A new MMORPG's website has launched. The Chronicles of Spellborn (http://www.thechroniclesofspellborn.com/) (does anyone find that difficult to say?) is a new MMORPG coming soon to PCs. There isn't too much info yet on the game...but they do list an interesting feature list. 1. Players have to be able to interact with each other or fight against each other individually and / or in groups.
2. Players have to be able to experience a fun game and look cool right from the start.
3. Players have to be able to influence the world and make a difference.
I get to look COOOOOL from the start!?!?!? Oh man...SIGN ME UP!
You might mock, but anything that takes us away from wearing rags and hitting bunnies with a stick for the first 10 levels has to be a good thing.
Especially when the bunnies win half the time. :)
In other news, projected release is the first half of next year - so no reason to interrupt your slumbers for awhile.

Well, that's no ordinary rabbit. That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on.

I think looking cool is very important to gameplay experience. City of Heroes is the only game so far (in my opinion), who pulled this off. Even though you weren't Uber, at level 1- you felt cool, and you looked cool. Character customization is going to be the mark to measure as most of the top games play the same anyway.

But it takes away from the accomplishment you feel late in the game. Which is the long run, is more important.

10 points for an on topic penny-arcade reference ;-)
I've heard so much MMO hype in the last few years I'm literally immune to it now. Seriously.. my computer chair gives me +4 against hype related enchantments.
At any rate the website doesn't have screenshots on it that I could see and they are talking about being a year away from release? I think not.

Oh, I know I should of said this earlier, but the layout artwork on that site is pretty sweet. So whether or not it's a good game, the players will have a decent website to look at!
EDIT: Oh, and they're saying they will release screenshots in July.

A developer commented on the nature of PVP in the game and a moderator removed it... I smell trouble...

Yes, CoH was the only game which pulled off the "Look cool from day 1" prospect. What's more, you could reach lvl 12 in no time at all, and once you had a travel power you *were* a super hero.

And once you got to lvl 20, you could grind until you hit lvl 60... and then roll up a new character!
I think Peri just summed up why I quit WoW too... :(
