Whats the size like?

I'm tempted by this because of the graphics but in all honesty it still looks like a really empty hack n slash.

I'm working on a review for Spider-Man 3 which will likely bring the world to an end. Stay tuned.

Who exactly buys these games? I mean, movies licenses aren't cheap, so they must sell. That said, outside of kids I dont know anyone that buys movie games..

OK people, fess up! Who are you? Who out there bought say... King Kong, expecting a good game? Who plans to buy Pirates?

I bought King Kong - actually liked it too. Not that I'm planning to buy Pirates, but I might rent it over swapgame if the demo doesn't make me puke uncontrollably like the Shrek the Third demo.

Hey, King Kong wasn't so bad (on the 360, anyway). Not the best game ever, but certainly a better use of a movie license than most. The ending level sucked bad (and the Kong levels in general), however...

Nice, more games with Pirates. Johnny Depp is doing his part to halt global warming. All hail FSM!

I was able to get hold of this game early and it is pretty good, I’ve been playing it for an hour and I’m enjoying this so far! Graphics are nice the dual sword fighting is good but the only problem I have with it is the controls, they are a bit rusty but nothing to cry about. I'm going to go play some more since this game is pretty good AND FUN. The camera movements are fooking weird too but you get use to them over time. I'm enjoying this more than Spiderman 3 if I dare say so!

Pro's:
Great Graphics and looks very nice on a HDTV.
It's totally fun and I haven’t got bored of it like I do with all other Movie Games.
Not really a Kiddie game as what Disney usually does.

Cons:
Camera Movements suck
Controls are a bit rusty
No Xbox Live Duelling Match’s

Oh and it’s been worked on well unlike other movie based game release's.

I bought King Kong and I liked it. I came away from playing that game with ideas. It's presentation was a little different. Damn near everything was super scripted (looks over at the V-Rex chase scene) and it wasn't too hard. Acting was above par, yet corny, like the movie. Easy points.

Pirates, looks good. I've been seeing the pictures and telling myself it's a movie game. Then I think of King Kong. Not the greatest, but like I said, pretty good time. I'd have to see how a real pirate game handled.

My gut feeling tells me this game will be highly polished for the girl gamer crowd. I was at Disneyland a bit ago and all the shops had huge sections of women's POTC swag and clothing, with an occasional eyepatch or hat for the men. I thought it was peculiar, but in traversing the park it came to my attention that this crap was selling like hotcakes. Speaking of hotcakes, you should have seen the crowd around the Jack Sparrow impersonator near the ride... lucky duck... Anyway, my point is Disney knows this franchise appeals to women and have been making obvious strides to market to them. 10 bux says Disney required that Mr.Depp's game-model appear as visually identical to his onscreen persona as possible.

Are you telling me the Gay Pirate look is in with the women these days?

Are you telling me the Gay Pirate look is in with the women these days?

Let me put it this way.
Walk up to a crowd of women, and say either "Capt. Jack Sparrow" or just "Johnny Depp"...wait for them to stop squealing with delight, and talking about how fast they'd leave their man for him. Seriously, it's crazy.
My wife told me once that she would never leave me...unless Johnny Depp showed up and wanted her.
That makes a man feel good inside, you know....

I hate that fuckin guy. And his mascara.

The "look" won't cut it. You actually have to BE gay... so it's a lose/lose situation. ;)

Who out there bought say... King Kong, expecting a good game?

Not the best example as King Kong was a good game. It was a lot better than the actual movie, which I hated. I won't be buying this though.

The demo was pretty pleasing! The graphics are fantastic, excellant character models especially.

The movement and combat felt a bit loose, could do with being tightened up as it's almost right. The duelling wasn't bad but it'll be quite obviously improved once you've not got tutorial messages all the time.

It was nice to download a demo that actually let you play for a while! Fed up of 1gig downloads for 2 minutes of play.

I might pick it up AFTER I get and play C&C3 to death. Don't put it down just because it's a movie title, it's obvious that a lot of serious work has gone into making it a high quality product. Better than the fucking mind-numbing Shrek3 demo by a county mile.

Voice acting? I hope this has easy achievements too. :p

Games to movies should be cheaper buy $20 and should be released when DVDs are, not the movie in the theater. Eh?

I'm actually looking forward to this one. As a rule, I distrust movie to games..er games..

I'm hoping it isn't a one way ticket through the plot of the game though and there are multiple paths or sandboxish stuff in there.

So on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being E.T. on the Atari system and 10 being Chronicles of Riddick on xbox, where would you rate this movie game?

I would like to take Riddick off the scale as it maybe based on a movie character it's not directly related to any movie. It wins for that reason. Spider-man, king kong, they represent their movies directly. But nobody would of been happy if Riddick was like the movie. :p
