Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com) has a first look up on an "original entry" into the Ninja Gaiden series for the DS.

Itagaki's demo began with a quick overview, where he touched on the game's place in the Ninja Gaiden continuity. Dragon Sword picks up roughly six months after the events in Ninja Gaiden (and, by default, those in Ninja Gaiden Black and Sigma, which both offer enhanced takes on the action in the original game). Ryu is still out being a good, peacekeeping ninja and facing off against demonic hordes.

They've got videos and information and all sorts over there (http://www.gamespot.com/ds/action/ninjagaidendragonsword/news.html?sid=6170628&autoplay=6170595&tag=topslot;link;3&om_act=convert&om_clk=topslot) and it looks awesome.

Those videos look shockingly good.

The 3D visuals in the game, even in the work-in-progress version shown off, were already leaps and bounds above what we've seen on the DS before. The game moves surprisingly smoothly already and the level of detail (both real and faked via a smart array of art and graphical tricks) is fantastic. The game even appears to be mimicking the presentation of the console games with a mix of fixed cameras and some dramatic angles when things get crazy. Team Ninja's reputation as a team of technical masters with hardware will be pretty much cemented if the game visuals deliver on what we've seen so far

That does look really good. I'm glad they decided to go with the on the side way of holding the DS with the control style that they're going for, I don't think I'd be able to play it if you had to hold it like MPH. It's just so much more comfortable to hold the DS Lite like that.

I haven't bought a DS game since Portrait of Ruin, looks like this will be the next one I buy.

So much for the thoughts/complaints that the Nintendo DS is incapable of having games with good graphics..I suspect the same will hold true with the Wii sooner rather then later.

LOL well it could easily be done but I was just saying that games in general will start looking a whole lot better on the Wii pretty soon much like they will on the DS. Never as good as the PS3 or 360 but in the ballpark..look at God of War 2 on PS2. That game rivals most of the 360 lineup in visual appeal IMHO.

This looks good. Now I almost regret that sold my DS Lite.

Yeah. It only took, what, 6 years? I don't know about you but I don't wanna wait that long for a system's graphics to START getting good. I know that won't be the case with the Wii, seeing as how Metroid should be out this year.
And this game looks awesome. I said it before and I'll say it again, there's no way that Team Ninja will fuck up any version of Ninja Gaiden. The game could come out on Virtual Boy and it would own. Of course, we should wait until the game comes out to make our judgements.

IDD about the 6 years but any moron can see the Wii is more powerful and is much more capable of better looking graphics then the PS2/GC/XBOX. So if the PS2 can do something like GOW2 then I am sure the Wii can do some real nice stuff , above and beyond that games graphics.

I don't know if anyone can SEE that, given that none of the games out there for Wii surpass anything we've seen on GC or Xbox. I'm sure the Wii could do nice graphics but I don't KNOW. Once I see a better looking game than Chronicles of Riddick for the Wii I'll get back to you.

I'm glad I just traded in my DS Phat for a DS Lite today. Holding the DS like that is much better when its lighter. Also, the graphics will look much better on that brighter screen.

A lot of Wii games are sloppy PS2 ports, like Spiderman 3. Take a game like Sonic that was built for the Wii and you can see where the baseline of graphics is. Taking ports and going "well this is all the Wii can do? The Wii sucks then!" is kinda ignorant.

I know a lot of it has to do with the developers and not the system itself. But look at Far Cry, that game appeared on Xbox and it kicked ass but the Wii version is pretty much a huge chunk of shit. The developers either goofed off in this game or the system just couldn't do the job the Xbox did.
