Is it that time already? Sheesh... Time flies when you're having fun, or so they say. Who's they? People who know.
It was a very quiet week this week, so there's not much to round up. However, I shall do my best.
First up was news that Microsoft and FASA Studios' Shadowrun has gone gold (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29662). Will it live up to everyone's Microsoft's expectations or will it crash and burn in a pit of fanboy hatred? It's up to you.
Sticking with PC for the moment, details were finally announced regarding Hellgate: London's subscription model (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29616).
Moving over to the Xbox 360, the long-awaited demo for Forza 2 (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29686) finally hit XBLM. Some people like it, some don't. I do, and that's all that should matter. Also appearing on Marketplace was additional downloadable content for Crackdown (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29784). Before you rush off to download what many people reckon is the best 800 points you can spend on Marketplace, take a read at this (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29846). Don't say you weren't warned.
You may or may not have heard of Microsoft and Bungie's underground semi-hits Halo and Halo 2 (they're bleh FPS games with a tin-man 'hero'). Anyway, our very own bapenguin and Dr. Finger were lucky enough to attend a swanky preview event courtesy of Microsoft (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29799). As is befitting an underground game, feelings were mixed.
In what many may consider to be the biggest news of the week so far, Microsoft rolled out (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29617) their infamous Spring Update (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/news/2007/0408-im.htm) (with fresh Marketplace Blade, etc.) - and somehow managed to NOT destroy anyone's Xbox 360. Taking one for the team, eh?
What else..?
Nintendo fail to sell a DS Lite to every living person in Japan (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29712).
Rock Band takes shape (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29584).
Ubisoft released a content pack for GRAW 2 entitled the Throwback Pack (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29645).
Sony drops the ball yet again with the video game adaptation of Spider-Man 3 (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29469). (I know, it's not made by Sony, but I had to fit at least some Sony-related bad news here - it's part of my contract with the Devil.)
So as you see, not a lot going on... Roll on the end of the Spring malaise.
