Via Destructoid, (http://www.destructoid.com/xbla-delivers-free-shmup-goodness-next-wednesday-aegis-wing-31486.phtml) next Wednesday will usher in a Space Shooter for 360's Live Arcade free of charge. Don't expect mountains of innovation; this here is your standard Space Ship vs Hoards of Bullets/Enemies affair.
Game features include the following:
· Amazing environmental art
· Full symphonic soundtrack
· Up to four-player simultaneous cooperative multiplayer gameplay, either locally on the same Xbox 360 console or over Xbox LIVE*
· Ability to attach your ship to your wingmen's spacecraft to gain the "turret" ability and increase the firepower of the Super Weapons
· Four Super Weapons: the Hades Beam (wreaks total destruction), the Gorgon Burst (wipes out incoming fire and disables enemy spacecraft with an electromagnetic pulse), the Arcus Missile (a heat-seeking missile) and the Lambda Shield (deflects incoming fire back at enemies)
· Six epic missions and several memorable boss encounters to fight through
This seems to be a limited time offer similar to "Texas Hold 'Em," so don't lolligag! Unfortunately, the word so far is that the game will only show up in North America.
I guess this will be good thing to download for the people that aren't playing the Halo Beta...
I can already see the T-Shirts: "I went onto Marketplace on the 16th and all I got was this Shooter!"
