From Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/pages/news/story.php?sid=6170530&part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6170530) comes word that THQ's original shooter will not see the light of day in 2007. We have selected a January 2008 launch window for our new open-world shooter, Frontlines," he revealed during a postearnings analyst call. The game had been slated for release on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 later this year, and is one of several original IPs the publisher is carefully scheduling. The developer, Kaos Studios, was founded by the team that made Battlefield 2 as well as the original Desert Combat mod for BF1942.
Don't be surprised if a lot of slightly lesser known titles make similar scheduling moves. This coming holiday season is one of the most packed in recent memory, in quality and quantity

I've never even heard of Frontlines before, can they delay a game that you've never heard of?

Bah! I thought this was slated for a summer release, I mean hell, their marketing machine was in full swing months ago.

I've been looking forward to this really...but with Quake Wars around the corner, this can wait.

It looks good and hopefully this delay will make it even better!
I don't know if I would say that Kaos was the team that made Battlefield 2. Now they contributed to it, but DICE Sweden did a lot of work on it as well.

Yes, Kaos only did some testing and planning. DICE did most of the work.

Pfff, making it probably obsolete in the process. How many "generic" shooters this year. Halo, Quake Wars, Unreal 3, Call of Duty 3, Medal of Honor, etc. That's excluding more interesting games like Bioshock and the Darkness.

I just saw my first, genuine preview of this game in last months GFW...I was not expecting it any time soon. And as a DUke Nukem Fan..."Delay" has a very different meaning.

There's been several stories about it. It looks good. I've seen some previews that look very pretty, and their ideas for vehicles/weapons and the "frontline" mechanic look interesting.
