Chris Kohler from Game | LIfe Wired Blogs (http://blog.wired.com/games/) reports:
Square Enix announced today in Tokyo that the Chocobo's Mysterious Dungeon series would be coming to Wii. At their press conference this afternoon they showed a rather good-looking first glimpse at the game, which will feature a turn-based battle system and, in the words of the game's producer, a "wide array of elements" above and beyond the standard dungeon-hack system.
Chocobo is Square's attempt to reach out to a wider audience on Wii, so it's only fitting that they'd expand the gameplay beyond the usual hardcore-dungeon-hack tropes. But they didn't say what they'd be adding. The graphics were nice, but unfortunately Square didn't give us any screenshots so you don't get to see it.

Square Enix did the same thing when they showed off Crystal Chronicles: the Crystal Bearers. IGN was saying they showed a new trailer that displayed a lot of the art style and they went on and on about how great the game looked. But, Square didn't bother to give them any screenshots or let them take any video.
Tell me. Why the FUCK do you invite a ton of press to your PRESS EVENT and not give them anything to show your CONSUMER BASE <interrobang>
I don't know who's deafening silence I hate more: Square Enix, or Nintendo.

No video or screenshots of a video game? Nice. Here's a bright idea for next time Square; hold a press conference, but don't invite the press.

Poor management aside, I like idea of a Square designed for the Wii that goes beyong dengeon-hacking. Maybe they'll update their website in the next day or two.

Well, it's still pre-show, so hopefully we'll get screens and trailers over the weekend when their event is in full swing.
Because both sound pretty good, and I'm especially hyped to hear more about Crystal Bearers, especially since people will be getting some hands-on time.

It was like that at 1up (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3159370) as well. In the case of Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate/The Crystal Bearers, Square Enix had shown off trailers for the games, yet refrained from sharing them out; other than the exception of a few screenshots.
But whatever. Doesn't really kill the hype for me. They'll leak out eventually.
