The full-length trailer for Remedy's new game Alan Wake has been released (http://www.alanwake.com/movies.html). The movie is 2:25 minutes long and can be downloaded at either 1280x720 high defenition or 640x360. A few new screenshots (http://www.alanwake.com/screenshots.html) have been released as well.
Max 3 has been outsourced after poor sales and let's face it, will end up as mainstream console trash. This is the real successor.

Looking nice.
But I'd love a proper Payne 3 :(

I remember some people saying prior to E3 that this game was "Nearly average for the next-generation".
Of course, those people were morons with tinfoil hats. This game is absolutely gorgeous.

So that was way better than the first trailer.

The only thing I don't love about this trailer is the animations, and even they aren't half bad.

actually what i dont love about this trailer is the fact that the ingame models are still kinda blocky and such like the cars for example, crap city my friend. Now, the animations also need to be re-tuned, spefically the jump animations ala max payne 1.

I believe a lot of the textures are still missing for many of the models. Of note to me is the wood paneling on the first shot off the balcony. I'm sure that'll be added as development continues. But overall, it's got my attention, let's see if they can pull it off.

well to put it this way, inside knowledge of how games are made goes like this, we all know that when game houses make a new game they use old textures and music inplace of what they will create just so it has a more complete feel. If you want an example look at the aerlier shots of quake 4 using all the flooring textures.

This looks very, very cool. I just love the way that Remedy puts their games together. Max Payne 2 may not have been the best follow up to MP, but it sure as heck was stylish. Actually, this looks like a combination of Max Payne and Silent Hill, which, for me, would be like some sort of intensely addictive controlled substance that I will soon bow before and offer up any amount of my personal well-being to obtain. But, this is the guy that modded his ps2 (well, one of them) and imported the Japanese version of Silent Hill 4 so I could play it 5 months early. i.e.--take my opinions as you will.

Very impressive trailer but as I watched I couldn't help thinking the writer had recently seen the very underrated John Carpenter film In The Mouth of Madness (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0113409/), which sure as hell would not at all be a bad thing.

Everything looks downright fantastic... cept the rockfall.
But the thing's not done yet, so it's all good.

But it did look damn good and cool.

The most important thing to me is that it sounds very different than the usual fare, both in story and gameplay. If I have to clear out another secret government base full of mutants/aliens/demons, I'm going to jump off a cliff.
Of course, I know I'll buy F.E.A.R., so you can already tell I'm a damn liar.

Afaic, Max Payne was console trash. But then again, I abhor 3rd person shooters. Wake sure does look pretty though.

ÜberJumper - well, that obviously excludes post-apocalyptic mutants. I can take those any day.

How could you say that Max Payne was just console trash, I loved it! The same goes for Max Payne 2; the storytelling was awesome and unique, the bulllet time was groundbreaking, the detail was immense and the humor was great. Max Payne is one of the best shooters I've ever played.
THe reason I'm glad with Alan Wake coming out instead of Max Payne 3 is because A) Alan Wake Looks Awesome and B) They'll probably release MP3 at some point years from now, when they have a better handle on next gen technology
