An interview conducted yesterday with C&C3’s Senior Producer Mike Glosecki at Gameplayer (http://www.gameplayer.com.au/Home/News/NewsArticle/tabid/55/Default.aspx?CID=35435c8d-ddcb-4c0b-94f4-3c56668884cc) has revealed some interesting news. They are looking at the Wii and PS3 as potential formats for the successful RTS.
A Wii version of the game is a slightly trickier proposition, though. “There isn’t as much under the hood,” says Glosecki, “so it obviously won't look as good. But as far as control goes, I don’t see why it can’t be done,”

This maybe, possibly, potentially, hypothetically, imaginarily, could be totally awesome!

I'm not certain how it could be done on the PS3...unless it just flat-out used a mouse and keyboard.

Yeah. I'm sure it's very difficult to use the same config as on the X360 version.

Already posted in the console forum, but today has been bad about this so I'll just quote myself:
1: C&C 3 is a terrible C&C game in the first place...a fun RTS, but no C&C.
2: Take number 1, and add the fact that it's even shittier on the 360. How will that translate on the Wii?
My opinion: Keep C&C3 on the PC, or make the consoles exclusive C&C RTS's made from the ground up for the consoles. People will accept C&C 3 on the consoles because "It's pretty damn good for an RTS on a console", when they should be saying, "This is how you fucking do an RTS on a console". I'm interested in seeing how Halo Wars turns out. It could be like Goldeneye on the N64.

Yeah, I posted this in the console forums (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29651) because it was nothing more than the producer saying "yeah, it could be done." He didn't even say they were considering it, just it would be technically possible to make them. I just don't know what to make of his comments.

Well, it wasn't the usual 'we can't comment on this now' nor was it a 'we are just focussing on the X360 release'. Either he wants the speculation, or he is serious

I think the combination of moving the map with the analog stick and pointing and clicking with the wiimote sounds like it would make sweet music. I'm all for a Wii version.

I'm progressing nicely through the 360 version. The boot camp does a great job getting you going, and time helped me adapt. Granted, I'll take a mouse/KB anyday (which EA should have supported with this release), but they did a great job mapping out the controls.

360 can't do mouse. It can do keyboard, not mouse.

Using Wii controls to adapt to an RTS format could be very interesting. If nothing else, it'll give me an excuse to dress up as General Patton, pin up an American flag in the background, and pretend the Wiimote is a pointer while I yell profanities and military jargon at the TV.

Damn that sucks. I would think a firmware update could make that possible, no?

Maybe they will wait to see how Battalion Wars 2 plays out...
