In a interview with GamesIndustry.biz (http://www.gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?aid=9615), Stefan Heinemann of IP holders Wallaroo has announced that the "ringtone character the Crazy Frog is to appear in his own [racing] videogame on PC, PS2 and GBA" in time for Christmas. "It will definitely be a game that's cool, but also annoying, just like the Crazy Frog" he claims. No other details yet, thankfully. Ring ding a ding...

I thought the crazy frog was originally just a demo of some guy's skill at 3d animation?
I also heard he was hired by one of the big studios after it.
Although who knows what the truth is now, I first saw it a year ago as a straight animation floating round the net, but now it's on during every commercial break blaring in my face trying to get me to PAY MONEY for it, and I believe it was even the number one played song on some of our Australian Radio stations...

What I find even more disturbing is how they've twisted the character. When he was first made, he was just some playful but annoying frog. He wears no clothes and that seems pretty normal for an animal. But on the tv version they have put a pixelated patch over where his genitalia SHOULD be, as if to imply that they actually animated his genitalia and he's some crazy PERVERTED HIPPY frog and they need to censor his lewd behaviour for tv viewing.

The frog originally did have "genitalia". I'm presuming they received complaints as the picture on the ring tone ad received a black box over the offending scrotum, and the video had it blurred out.
