Boulder Dash Remake Coming to DS/PSP

Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=75968) is reporting that the classic game Boulder Dash will be getting a facelift as it's going to be coming to the PSP and DS as Boulder Dash - Rocks. However, it isn't as easy as it seems. You'll have to avoid falling boulders, roaming enemies and concealed traps by using various types of bombs and special laser guns - each with a unique ability to overcome certain obstacles.

I LOVED this game on my Atari. Hopefully they stay true to the original.

Ah crap .. yeah, it was sounding great right up until the point they mentioned laser guns. Jesus guys, when the hell will ya learn? It's just like more modern games like UFO: Enemy Unknown .. the fans like the sequels, but they *want* a decent remake first.

Heck, put Boulder Dash I, II, and III in a wee compilation, put in options for original, space, and new flashy graphics (same for sound), and voila! Instant hit, and bugger all dev cost. Heck, put in some new fancy levels with lasers too if ya want that bullet point so badly. Just be aware it's gonna make the real fans wary.
