Kinda looks like Rockstar's Table Tennis... but in jail...

I am a bit surprised to see it as a "last-gen" title myself. My guess is that they shifted their resources to bringing GTA IV out on next-gen, and let this hang back, I would like to be wrong, but I do not see this as a huge seller, Manhunt was not exactly a system seller in its day.

I need to pick up Manhunt, I never did play the game, and while I hear it is repetitive and not the greatest, it looks fun and can be had for cheap. Hopefully the sequel is a good game, from what I heard of the original, the series always felt like it had potential to me.

At least they're not demanding that people buy new multi-hundred dollar consoles to play a game capable of running on a PS2. Kudos to them, I say.

Manhunt on the Wii is surely bad news. I feel court cases a coming!

Those look a lot better than I thought they would. I'm really interested in how this plays on the Wii.

Did anyone else think this guy looks like a young Gordon Freeman from Half Life.

It's funny, I picked up Manhunt last year with basically zero expectations, and enjoyed it immensely. I'm not much for stealth games, but the mechanics in Manhunt were simple enough that felt like a very pure, fun experience to me.

Manhunt is the worst game ever made.

http://www.meinberlin.de/fototouren/bilder/365/gordon.jpgYou beat me to it. I thought that the third picture looked like Gordon Freeman vs. Agent 47 from Hitman.

Which would be AWESOME!

Sold. Although Hitman has gone downhill since they removed the moonwalk feature in later versions.

I can give you a hint (http://www.evilavatar.com/images/previews/image.php?image=www.evilavatar.com/images/previews/manhunt2/Manhunt%202%20Screens%20_07.jpg)of how it will play... ;)

It looks really good. Entirely NOT my kind of game, but I can appreciate it. I rented the Godfather for Wii. If you are into being brutal with people, I suggest giving it a shot. I loved the controls, but grabbing a guy by the front of his shirt and smashing his face into a tombstone while he begs for mercy made me ill.

well, you don't have to invest as much into textures, modeling and animation for a PS2/Wii game. Probably had to keep costs down to justify making it at all.

Manhunt was almost good. Had alot going for it. Good use of the xbox headset. Brian Cox. Interesting setup. Good use of atmosphere.

But man did it suck as a game.

Presumably they're making it for PS2 as they can reuse the Bully engine for it and make use of programmers with PS2 experience to get the game done relatively cheap. Zero marketing budget will be likely I'd have thought and as such it's almost bound to turn a profit.

Manhunt is a far better game than the overwhelming majority of people realise.

No, this thing has been in development for the typical-Rockstar long time and instead of shifting it to a next gen platform, they probably decided there's enough PS2 #'s out there (which there are more of than ALL "next gen" combined).

Looks pretty good... too bad those looks are attached to a shite game. Hopefully this one goes unnoticed, like the other one, so the games industry doesn't get more unnecessary heat.

Some of those screens looks much better than others. Not that strange since another studio is working on the Wii version.
If the controls are on par with The Godfather it will kick ass.

Manhunt, while absolutely disgusting in a variety of ways, was actually a pretty fun game to play. I remember actually taking the time to play all the way through it.

I can honestly say that it is the only game I've ever played that has actually made me wonder if perhaps video games might could inspire violence.

Manhunt was ok but strip away the violence and gore and it was just a basic puzzle game. It got quite boring quite quickly.

Oh come on. It was an awesome game. There were some levels.. exactly which ones evade me at the moment, but I distinctly remember having a blast, playing through a few levels using nothing but the goddamn brick. My handy-dandy combat brick™

edit:

of course, I am rather strange. My little brother and I completed MGS3 using nothing but the spider, as soon as we got it. Action Spider™

Oh, I was kidding. I am one of the few and the lonely that actually enjoyed Manhunt, though I never played as much as I wanted to.

Hopefully the second one will fix the issues that most people had with the first and not be something like State Of Emergency 2, which somehow was worse than the first :P

Considering the tech that games gonna be on, that looks pretty damn good. A renter at least, since the first game was way too morbid for me to fully enjoy.

See you need to let games like these exist aswell, see i can play doom 1 and 2 and exp's and such for hours on end. Even though ive probally played through the levels like a thousand time and even though its very repetative game play i still find it fun. I look at manhunt 1 in the same light, while the game play mechanics dont get really complex above sneak stalk and kill. Yes there were a few puzzles within the game and the firearms did add different gameplay into the game but really it was all the same. What i do give credit for is model design, character design, sound design and most importantly level design. I feel manhunt had some awesome level design some of the best ive seen in along time. there was never a time in the game i felt like the game world wasnt convincing.

I'm the kind of sissy that finds it wrong to kick the brutally crap out of innocent people who plead for help, even in games. I realize that there are a LOT of people who enjoy that kind of thing, but to me it seems like reinforcing cruel behavior.

I don't mind chainsawing Locust in half, even with my daughter, but they are very obviously the 'bad guys', and not my friendly neighborhood barber who screams for mercy.

And I am very comfortable with that.

I actually beat manhunt, which is a rarity for me in general. Sure, it was brutal as all fuck, but it was actually fun, which is interesting. I like stealth sort of games, and i guess i've been pretty starved for them since the downfall of the Thief series...
