Gamecloud has posted an interview (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=372) with Warner Brothers Interactive's Jason Hall, talking about moving The Matrix Online away from Monolith and into the arms of Sony Online.

Gamecloud: The NPD Group reported that The Matrix Online sold 43,000 copies in its first month. Were the sales of Matrix Online below Warner Bros. Interactive's expectations for the game?

Jason Hall: As you mentioned, the Matrix Online was officially launched less than three months ago. During that time there has been incredible competition from other MMO titles. We have been and will continue to (with SOE as a partner) grow our game, even in the face of such challenges. We are proud of our accomplishments during these competitive times.

Hmm...I bet I can create a MMO based on the Matrix license, put a picture of a chick with her top off on the back of the box (block out the boobage with a blurry bar) and I could sell more than 43,000 copies easy.

I guess that just goes to show that The Matrix in general is in the "who cares?" bin.
