Week Nineteen of the Comic Day! comics discussion thread (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=775436#post775436) has been posted! Join us there this week (and EVERY week!) to talk about the comics being released this week and whatever else we've been reading. If you need a look at everything being released this week first, check out Diamond's shipping list (http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_050207.txt). My picks of the week:
52 #52 -- They did it. They goddamn did it. 52 weeks, 52 issues. One full year of successful, on-time weekly comics that were freakin' GOOD. It all finally comes to an end with this extra-big issue that ties up the loose ends of the Booster Gold/Rip Hunter/Skeets time travel story and every one else in 52. If you've been reading 52 up to now, don't miss it; if not, get ready for the impending trade releases.
Showcase Presents: The War That Time Forgot Vol. 1 -- Soldiers. Dinosaurs. 500+ pages. 'Nuff said.
World War Hulk Prologue: Worldbreaker -- Marvel's next big summer event is almost upon us, and this Peter David-penned one-shot should serve as an awesome lead in. Includes some short stories about Hulk's return to the planet Earth, some important reprints, and a synopsis of Planet Hulk for those who didn't read it.
Question of the week: In association with episode 3 of Evil Avatar's new comic podcast, Johnny Gigawatt and the Tiger Men from Mars (http://tigermen.podshow.com): Here on the podcast, we're all very excited for the start of Warren Ellis's new political sci-fi series, Doktor Sleepless. What new non-DC-or-Marvel ongoing series are you looking forward to the launch of?
Speaking of J.Gig and the Tigermen, Episode 3 (http://www.podshow.com/shows/?mode=detail&episode_id=59207) is currently up! Join our roundtable as we discuss Amazons Attack, Transmetropolitan, TV shows Heroes and Lost, Spider-Man the Musical, and real-world Kryptonite! Check it out at the link or in the iTunes Music Store!
