Telefragged (http://www.telefragged.com/interviews/oblivion/) has an interview up with Producer Todd Howard of Bethesda. Topics include multiple character battles, XBox 360 Development, and of course...graphics. Finger: Many games nowadays are including advanced shadows and lighting, even in outdoor environments. We've already heard about how forest canopies will cast shadows on the player, but will things like buildings have their own shadows? If so, will these shadows slowly creep as the day goes on and the position of the sun in the sky changes?

Todd Howard: That's something we're still messing with. We have different shadow systems for different sets of objects, and mostly it's us choosing the best game speed vs visual fidelity. So trees use one system, objects you pick up another, and characters another.

This game can't come out fast enough.

Hopefully it can hold my attention longer than Morrowind did. Great game with an amazing amount of things to do and see, but just not enough to keep me pushing forward.

So...is this really going to be a 360 launch title? As I remember it, Morrowind was going to be an xbox launch title - but didn't make it until a year or so later.

Ah well, here's hoping we have Oblivion for post-Thanksgiving gaming!

I'll be waiting till it's out on PC anyways.

Yeah, that's exactly my feeling on Morrowind. I actually recently bought the GOTY edition for the Xbox and am trying to make my way thru the game. But it doesn't give me the "gotta play it now" feeling.

I love open-endedness and the ability to do whatever I want, but if I'm not presented with some goals, I just end up feeling lost usually. Morrowind gives goals, but it seems bad at keeping track of them and helping you figure out where to go.

I probably put more hours into morrowind (on the xbox... didn't have a PC that could handle it at the time) than any other game..... other than elder scrolls: arena. i for one loved just being able to explore and find quests on my own instead of being guided. i can understand the frustration in not knowing what to do next though. i remember the horrible quest journal you had in morrowind... that's why i probably put so much time into the game. i kept forgetting to do the main quest and just explored :) heh. this game is definately on the top of my list (right alongside stalker) and i really hope it shows its face this year... instead of pulling a half life 2, or a morrowind, or a stalker, or pretty much any other game i've been excited about.

Does anyone know where the E3 demonstration can be downloaded, if anywhere? I am dying to play this game and would love to see the demo, but have had no luck tracking it down.
