While I am guilty of buying a whole box of Nintendogs packs, I think it's kind of silly to invest money in regular trading cards these days. I would rather just put the money towards a pack of WoW cards.

while I have no interest in cards with which you play an actual game, I am completely interested in cards you buy just for the sake of owning them. I think it's a throwback to when my mom used to buy me Mario Brothers card packs when I was a child. Who would have thought that gum that tore up the inside of your mouth would bring back such fond nostalgia.
