ThreeSpeech (http://threespeech.com/blog/?p=396#more-396) has the story on two upcoming PS3 downloadable games : Super Stardust HD and Snakeball. While we've heard about SSHD before, this is the first information we're getting on Snakeball.
Glide across an outlandishly dazzling disco floor on a bizarre hoversnake, snapping up coloured balls to score points, while other snakeballers attempt to knock you off the top spot with flicks from their multicoloured tails or blasts from their weapons.

Three game modes: feed the snake to make it grow as long as possible in one-player mode; take on the fiendish defences of each arena in Challenge Mode; or battle up to eight other Snakeballers from around the world in Online Mode.
ThreeSpeech has some very nice screens of each game. SSHD is set for a June release, while Snakeball will be out in July.

Both games look like they could be very entertaining, especially the co-op mode for Super Stardust HD. Snakeball has a strange, almost Bomberman-like look to it. It's nice to see some actual content finally start to hit the PSN.

Snakeball was originally thought to be an Xbox 360 game... I wonder if it's coming out for both?

I just did an online survey about video games, more specifically, XBLA games. After answering several questions about which games I own and have played, they offered to show me some details of a new game being worked on. Of course I agreed to take a look.

The first page was the details of the game, stuff you'd see in a magazine ad. I couldn't copy the text, but I was able to print screen.

Next was a couple of screen shots.

Last was a video. Because of their copyright protection on the page, I had no way of copying, downloading or capturing the video for you guys. It was pretty interesting, with horrible music, but they mentioned it was a placeholder only. The physics looked pretty cool, and the whole game looked like it took place on a giant disco floor of sorts.

At the end of the minute long video, the phrase GA-MOO-LA showed up. I assume this is the name of the developer. I did a google search and its looks like a CG studio or something.

The footage I saw looked like actual gameplay, but after looking at the style of the graphics on that site, it's possible they rendered the whole thing just for this survey. I don't know. Maybe Gamoola is getting into the games business.

Google search for snakeball didn't produce any results that resemble this game.

Has anyone heard anything about this? Or is this breaking news?

Hmm, interesting. TS says at the bottom of the story that they're both exclusive to the PSN, but after the Bioshock thing (still could happen, though), I'm a bit skeptical of that. Either way, it looks like fun. I'm more interested in SSHD personally though.

Yeah, SSHD looks good except it seems like too much of what is already available. Even still my guess is everyone will want to buy it because it'll be good. Snakeball seems really refreshing, but seems like no one would really play it.

I don't think there is even a chance of Bioshock not being eventually released for hte PS3. It'll be a HUGE title and probably got like a 9 month exclusive or something.
