And so here we are yet again. It's Sunday, it's 3:00pm MST, and it's Crackerjack (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crackerjack)! Actually, it's not really, but I sure wish it was. Ailie Kincaid, where are you now?
Anyway... Welcome to week two of Fireside Roundup - your weekly catch-up of things you may have missed (or wish you had missed) here at Evil Avatar.
Where to begin? How about we begin with the news that the European version of Sony's monster hit, God of War II, will not feature the super-secret hidden HD mode that the US version did (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28468)?
Moving on from there, news erupted that Factor 5, developers of Sony's upcoming (so they tell me) Lair, is absolutely and positively head-over-heels in love with the PS3 (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28480).
However, as is the norm round these parts, it would be simply impossible to have good Sony news with no bad Sony news to redress the balance. And so it came to pass that Sony is pondering reducing their European (and perhaps US and Japanese) workforce by some considerable amount (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28497). Oh, and did I mention that the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Italia has decided that enough is enough (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28535)?
Moving away from Sony, news also broke this week that everyone's favorite childhood memory molester, Michael Bay, is set to direct the big screen adaptation of Prince of Persia (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28452). Yeah, me too.
Ooh, wait a second - some more POSITIVELY GOOD Sony news surfaced this week when it was revealed that Sony's PlayStation Network is doing, well, well (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28548).
Not doing well (at least where data security is concerned) was Valve. Turns out some fuckwit hacked their servers and may have accessed customer credit card information (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28658).
And here's some other stories you may have missed...
New Heavenly Sword screenshots! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28605)
The Evil Avatar Network (TM) was born! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28628)
The NPD numbers for March '07 were released! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28710)
Sony unveiled a positively anemic Q2 2007 line-up! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28668)
Microsoft's much-maligned backwards compatibility for 360 received a timely boost! (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28678)
Phew. What a week. Oh, and as far as I know, nobody was banned!
