Gamecloud has posted an interview (http://www.gamecloud.com/article.php?article_id=327) with Andy Beaudoin of Cranky Pants Games, talking about the upcoming title, Evil Dead: Regeneration.
Gamecloud: What was it like working once again with Bruce Campbell?
Andy Beaudoin: Bruce has been a strong ally on this project and has truly been a pleasure to work with. He’s not only provided the voice acting for Ash, but he has made himself available to provide feedback on game concepts, story ideas, dialog, and cinematics. The recording sessions were a blast, as Bruce would often take the lines that we had written and ad lib with some hilarious results. Many of the lines we’ve used in game are variants of the original script, with Bruce’s unique spin and style.Evil Advertisement: For more Evil Dead fun, be sure to hit BCB Comics (http://bcbcomics.com/) and pick up the new Army of Darkness comic series, "Shop till you drop Dead". I'm just loving the new Army of Darkness comics and the next title is "Army of Darkness vs. Re-Animator". Now that should be a movie!

Ok, I suck. Was/is Re-Animator the movie any good? I've never seen it.
For any of you who may live in the Washington DC area like yours truly, looks like Bruce is gonna be in town next week at the E Street Cinema:
Actor, author, and director Bruce Campbell ( Bubba Ho-Tep, Army of Darkness) returns to the E Street Cinema on Wednesday, June 22nd for a signing and reading of his new book, Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way , followed by three one-night-only showings of his new film, MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN !
The book signing will be held at the E Street from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM. A signing ticket is required for the book signing, which fans can obtain at the theatre starting at 6:00 PM that evening by purchasing Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way . Olsson’s Books and Records will be selling the books in the theatre lobby.
Following the book signing, there will be three showings of MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN, which Campbell wrote, directed and stars in. The film will show at 8:00, 10:00, & 10:30 PM—Campbell will introduce the film and host Q&A sessions following each screening. Admission to the film is separate from the book signing—tickets are $12 and are now available at the E Street Cinema box office. Get your tickets soon--this event will sell out fast!

The first Re-Animator movie is a classic. It has just the right combination of crazy storyline, cheezy acting (Jeffrey Combs is awesome as Dr. West), gore and nudity in a horror film. It was released in the early 80's and was a moderate success.
A lot of people credit Re-Animator as "bringing back" the horror movie to Hollywood, because up to that point Hollywood was looking at horror movies as kind of a loss and Re-Animator's success really generated interest in the genre again.
Bride of Re-Animator is pretty good, because it brings back all of the main actors from the first film.
The recent "Beyond Re-Animator" isn't nearly as good as the older films - it was really made as a direct-to-TV movie for the Sci Fi channel and it suffers a bit in the quality department, but considering it is really a TV movie it isn't as bad as some of the stuff Sci Fi makes.
In the trivia department, I once did an interview with actor Jeffrey Combs for an independent music and movie magazine. :)

Excellent, I'll add the first two movies to my Netflix list!
And for those who care, Jeffrey Combs is a regular at the Motor City Comic Con. A decent guy whose patient with all his Star Trek fans. :)
Jeffrey Combs rulez in Reanimator! A classic!

A loud mouth sidekick played by Ted Raimi? Count me in!
Hopefully the game will be better then the first and second one.
Don't get me wrong I love the second one, but the first was horrid.

I just met the man himself last night at his book signing. His Q&A session was hilarious! He actually is that sarcastic of a bastard in real life! I asked him about Bubba Nosferatu, the Bubba Ho-Tep sequel, and he said they are going to have to wait and see once Sony is done acquiring MGM if its still a project that will be greenlit.
His new movie The Man With The Screaming Brain is playing Sat night in NYC, and he's introducing it. Can't wait.
