When I pull out up front, you see the Benz on dubs, When I roll 20 deep, it's 20 knives in the club.

Well, not quite like that in this club, but Bizarre Creations (http://www.bizarrecreations.com/news.php?id=14246) has put up a preview and screens for their little talked about next project named The Club. The game sounds extremely interesting. It mixes first/3rd person action with a racing style game type scoring system. 3, 2, 1... BAM! The level begins like a racing game. You run forwards and turn the first corner. Two masked hoodlums holding pistols (the most basic enemy in the game) swing round and take aim at you, but immediately fall in a hail of gunfire from your sub machinegun. Without breaking pace you sprint up the stairs behind them, blasting open a window (and through another enemy) as you climb.

You roll through the door at the top of the stairs, immediately taking aim at the enemy to your right. BAM, he goes down with a perfect head shot. A massive roll-bonus racks up on your screen, supplemented with the score from the headshot... Must keep this combo going! Sprinting through the next corridor and smashing through the wooden door, you're trying to shoot down the next soul before your combo ends and your bank is stashed. Must. Run. Faster!

...and that's just the first five seconds of the game.

Whoa! This just jumped from nowhere to can't wait to play it!

This has been on the periphery for me for some time. I'm not yet sure what to make of it.

greatest intro ever, by bap?

game sounds fun. hope there's enough variety to switch the dynamics up after multiple matches.

I'm probably being dumb here, but when they say 'racing game', they mean 'you're racing through the game and we have a kudos/multipler system', rather than anything to do with cars... right? Sounds dumb but after reading the preview I'm guessing it's a fast-shooter on speed? I don't know what to make of it, really.

Yeah no cars. Think of it as a arcade style game where time is critical.

Sounds hot, basically a speed-shooter (brand new genre, I coined the term). Sounds good to me, I love fast paced action games, and have been craving them more and more these days.

this was pretty much already done- Total Overdose had a combat system that more or less required you to make combo after combo as fast as possible, in order to get the adrenaline necessary to defeat the next set of bad guys....

If any of you subscribe to EDGE (the awesome UK gaming mag) there's a fantastic write-up on the club in the latest issue.

EDGE is awesome... for features and write-ups. Don't like their reviews at all.

But that is far from the point; The Club is shaping up really well, and I can't wait to get my hands on it come release.

So, I am really liking the idea of a FPS with a score again. Just make it fast and fun, maybe flashy as well.

The screenshots, premise, and especially the description of the gameplay have made me severely interested in this. I can picture online rankings for The Club exploding in participation when it's released.

Except no drugs, self-defribrilating, or spontaneous sex on concrete. (Yet?)

Hmmm...cool gameplay mechanic. I could see myself enjoying this :)

Offtopic:
You know, it might be handy to mention in the blurb what platfrom the game is for, especially when you post it to the frontpage.

Come to that, wtf is on with the blurbs lately? They're getting vague-er and more oblique, like the Yo Joe one, where it took me a while to realise it was refering to a cartoon I used to watch religiously. A blurb, no matter how 'entertainingly' written, needs to mention subject and platform clearly.

Ummm this makes me think we need a Crank: The Game.
