Gizmo-site The Uber-Review found an illuminated, animated Space Invaders Welcome Mat (http://www.uberreview.com/2007/04/animated-space-invaders-doormat.htm/) for you to leave out front of your flat. What better way to inform people who visit that they are about to enter a dimension of gaming unparalleled in all of geekdom?

People often forget that the doormat is generally the first thing visitors encounter as they approach. It represents a fantastic opportunity to set the tone for what lies ahead - and the “Back Off” doormat practically screams “Yeah, we like Star Wars, video games, and Monty Python. What are you gonna do about it?”

The “Back Off” doormat Space Invaders animation is made possible by a flat panel LED powered on 2 AA batteries.

$110 for a mat guys will be wiping men's restroom detritus and caked-in dogshit off the bottom of their shoes with? Pass.

Neat idea, but that price point is just beyond fucked up.

If I still lived in an apartment, I would snatch this up in a heartbeat. Dunno if it is well suited to weathering the elements though.
