Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/13/news_6127452.html?part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6127452) is reporting that 2 more Resident Evil movies are on their way. Apparantly the 4th movie is being shot before the third movie....uh what? The move is surprising, given that shooting hasn't begun on the third chapter in the series, currently titled Resident Evil: Afterlife. Indeed, according to the reporter, Afterlife is in the midst of a shake-up, with the recent announcement that production is moving to Australia.

No director has signed onto Afterlife, which is based on a script written by British director Paul W. S. Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Alien vs. Predator), who directed the first Resident Evil. Though she hasn't signed a contract yet, Anderson's wife, supermodel-actress Milla Jovovich, is reportedly set to reprise her role as Alice, the series' gun-toting heroine.

The movies are mildly entertaining...enough to warrant 2 more sequels? I'm not so sure.

Oh, I'm pretty sure they're not. I got dizzy every time they had an action scene in Apocalypse. It was like the cameraman was having seizures while simultaneously being happed up on ecstasy and riding a roller coaster.

I thought they already finished shooting the third one? (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0419706/)

I dunno i thought the first movie was better than the second. The second move just got rediculous with that damn neck snapping scene in the graveyard. So damn lame i tells ya.

Holy sweet mother of god. Had Oedipus seen just the first one, he wouldn't have been able to stop with just the eyes.

Well, they might be mildly entertaining. And since it doesn't cost me anything for them to be made, go for it. Maybe they'll turn out decent.

It looks like they're planning the fourth before shooting the third, not shooting it first. Makes sense; that's what they're doing with Shrek too.

I liked the first more than the second, but as a big RE fan, I'm happy about this. Regardless of how cool it is to hate these, the movies were quite faithful to the series.

But Milla Jovovich is dead! I have no more reason to watch these movies!!! :(

Nope Only Zombie movie that I'm interested in is Romero's Land of The Dead.

Holy shit that looks good. Took him long enough to get enough money to do what he wanted to do with Day of the Dead...

the end of the second movie wasn't what i expected..... i liked it nevertheless.

Alien vs predator was a fine movie, until the union between humans and predators occurred... ruined the whole movie for me... come on!, after that scene it became something like batman y robin... I almost puke in there.

They are not shooting the fourth movie before the third. Nowhere in that article does it say that. It merely notes that production is starting for the fourth, ie they will start shooting the fourth soon after completion of the third.

Let's have a RE movie about Leon.

No, let's have a RE movie about a huge lumbering piece of tofu.

Yep George Romero is a fucking genius when it comes to Zombie movies. We basically owe the whole genre to him.

Ahhh. RE2 - still the best of the bunch in my opinion. What I played of RE4 was good, but it still did not engross me as much as RE2.

Milla needs to marry Steven Spielberg to get the part in his films.

My moneys on Uwe Boll directing! Might be an improvement over RE2.

Had they originally gone with George A. Romero's script, the movies would be classics just like the games...

Romero's script is online. Read it to see how good Resident Evil could have been...

Mila looks like shit anyway, she can't act for shit either.
RE2 looked like a collage of moments from a distrubed autistic kid's mind put together by another kid with ADD. What a POS it was it was barely watchable.

I read a little bit of the Romero script. It is horrible. Somehow, it would've been worse than the real RE movies.

I can't explain why, but I love the Resident Evil movies. Mind you I own Critters, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, and the Monster Squad as well, so that basically makes my opinion invalid.
