Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/) has posted (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/13/news_6127384.html) an uncomfirmed blurb about the next Medal of Honor game entitled Medal of Honor: Airborne, is being developed for the PS3. Neither the Xbox 360 or Nintendo Revolution were directly mentioned but previous Medal of Honor games have been released for the major consoles.

Here a bit of reaction from EA officially on this title:
When asked for comment on Medal of Honor: Airborne, a senior PR spokesperson at EA LA demurred, saying, "We aren't ready to comment on anything just yet." However, that didn't stop the studio from putting a positive spin on the rumor. "Gamers can assume that EA is excited to bring the coolest content to the latest platforms," said the rep. "We have an amazingly creative development team down here and they are eager to show gamers just how far they take the next-generation of consoles."

Yeah, I can hear it now. Nintendo's a major console?

They still make Medal of Honor games?

Ofcourse they still make Medal of Honor Games... this is what the gaming industri is all about. Establish an IP that sells and milk it as much as you can. They can make 1 000 Medal of Honor Games as long as consumers still buy them.

That is the sad part about this industry, despite all this new hardware coming up I have not seen much new on the gaming horizon. Instead we see another GTA, more Mario, and even more Halo and so on coming out.

What really annoys me is that I know I will buy Halo 3 for Xbox 360 and probably Halo 4 as well as long as the games are good enough. So I guess its really my own fault this has happend :(

I, for one, hold MrTA personally responsible for this outrage.

Shall we set fire to his house or just a good old-fashioned hanging?

I don't know what's up with some gamers are so upset with sequels. It's not like you HAVE to buy them.

Yeah, it does seem to be the cause du' jour to be against sequels, but honestly, why? How much innovation do you really want anyway? Do you want another Seaman? (Hmm, that sounds really bad) Should all games be as quirky as Katamari Damacy?

I think as long as there's room for the above type titles to emerge and suceed, and apparently there is, then sequels are just fine. I knew what I was getting from DMC3, Doom 3 and GTA San Andreas, and that made it easier to spend the $50. I have a pretty good idea of what I'll get from Oblivion, Quake 4 and DOA4, so I'll go ahead on pony up the dollars.

If EA was smart, they would step away from the MoH franchise for a few years, then return to it with some new gameplay elements instead of another mediocre one year after year.

Ya after MOH:PA got good reviews I went out and bought it. Well ... It was a stinkin pile of crap! I will never buy a MOH game again!

And while EA make and sell all those degenerate Burnouts, Medal of Honors and Need For Speeds, countless unused IPs and franchises that they've bought throughout the years lie unused, overlooked and abandoned deep inside their cellar where they also keep the corpses of deceased workers.
