Call of Duty 2 is an all new epic title which delivers an unparalleled portrayal of the chaos and intensity that was World War II. Call of Duty 2 is powered by a proprietary new engine featuring striking new visuals, advanced A.I. technology, the most realistic squad combat and explosive action in new historic campaigns.
Check out two amazing new CoD 2 screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=26060) from the Point du Hoc level over at WorthPlaying.

Awesome use of bump mapping.
I remember seeing a history channel show on Point du Hoc...absolutely nuts how these guys game in and scaled that wall from the sea with the Germans at the top shooting down.

What? That's stupid, they should have landed somewhere else!
Yeah this looks pretty amazing, I wonder how itll measure up to DOD:source gameplay wise, whenver it comes out on steam lol.

Call of Duty was a good game. Medal of Honor Allied Assult was also a good game. I'm sure CoD2 will be a good game too but I just don't know if I care anymore. I'll probably pick up BF2 when it comes out because it's a newer time period and I like all the vehicles but I'm having trouble getting excited about WW2 FPS games any more.

They didn't really have a choice. It was a pre d-day attack. There were cannons located at the top of it aimed at the Normandy Beaches. Here's some more info on it: http://www.worldwar2history.info/D-Day/Pointe-Du-Hoc.html

No point in playing this after my adventures in squad delta in the bf2 demo.
Poor Derp though, he was a good lad, although perverted at times.

No, it is not, no, it does not.

I'm also looking forward to it. They're may be too many WW II games on the market, but I don't think there are too many GOOD WW II games on the market, and this looks to be one of 'em. I'll be getting it.

When in the hell are they going to start making WW3 games?

I think BF2 is exactly that. An unnamed conflict with the U.S., China, and a (as yet) fictional Middle Eastern coalition? Sounds right to me.

Call of Duty was waaaaaaaaaay to scripted for me. I hate that type of hand holding. Felt like one of those arcade games where the camera moves for you and all you gotta do is shoot. I finished it just for the hell of it, but was left with a dry feeling.
I've been having a total blast playing Soldiers: Heroes of WWII in coop mode. It's not an easy game to grasp and the controls a bit clunky, but what an amazing experience.

I know what you're saying, and too much scripting IS a pain (though I felt CoD had just the right amount for me... YMMV), though in the long run, I'd rather have scripting that'll get me where I need to be rather than flopping around aimlessly because I haven't met some nebulous parameters for mission success. They just need to overcome any scripting obnoxiousness with good gameplay. I think CoD managed that pretty well. =)
