IGN (http://www.ign.com) has posted a review (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/624/624488p1.html) of the eagerly awaited Batman Begins. From the review:

Smart and precisely crafted, Batman Begins is the most accessible comic film ever made.

Christopher Nolan's work on Batman Begins is truly outstanding. He has taken command of the franchise and raised the bar for comic-based films. Nolan had never really directed action before, but he handles the intense action sequences of the new Batman film like a seasoned veteran. And unlike action maestros like John Woo, Michael Bay or George Lucas, Nolan doesn't gloss over the story or the drama that surrounds the action. Instead, he interweaves all of these aspects into a film that you can't even call a comic film. It's too accessible for that. Even when compared to the greatest comic films ever made, such as 1977's Superman and 2000's Spider-Man, Nolan's Batman Begins is better just by the fact that it isn't reserved only for those familiar with the comic. Nolan creates a realistic world and unveils Batman's origin in a manner that doesn't have to be explained away with, "Oh, it's from a comic book." He backs up the world and completely grounds it in reality. Batman Begins lives up to its title in every way, a film that is undoubtedly the best set-up ever for a series, but also a near-perfect standalone film.

Dammit! I was going to wait till the weekend, but I may have to endure the crowds on Wednesday night!

Awe shit, I thought this was a review of the game, lol. I already knew the movie is great.

Can't wait to see it this week.

After being disappointed by the last couple Batman movies, its great to here someone finally was able to create a good movie on the subject.

It's directed by Christopher Nolan? That can only be a Good Thing. I ought to make the excursion.

Batman (the 1989 by Burton) was the first DVD I ever bought (ok, ok... not exactly a great DVD). It's always been one of my favorite movies.
I am hugely anticipating Batman Begins, and I think is going to be the biggest movie of the summer. I've been following the development for a few years, and have been nothing but very excited at their choices at director and star. Bale as Batman is as perfect a choice as I can think of.
Man, I can't wait till wednesday!

p.s. Shumacher should be banished to the very deepest parts of hell.

I think I have to jump on the opening night bandwagon for this one. I'm really interested in seeing if it can live up to the hype and I really hope that it does. The old directionless franchise was a major disappointment to me and really killed itself in the end. This looks like a good new beginning that they hopefully won't screw up down the road.

It is about freaking time they made a good Batman.

The two Batmans Tim Burton directed were actually pretty entertaining. Both were dark and had great characters. The Joel Scumwacker additions were horrendous.

Regardless... Looking forward to batman begins, it seems to keep the dark nature of Batman intact while not being cheesy.

God DAMN, I can't wait for this movie.

On a side note, did anyone see the episode of the Batman cartoon (not sure which one, I think it was on the WB incarnation), where they make fun of Schumacher? It was hilarious.

There was a review in the New Yorker of BB that sadly described it as basically a big-hollywood sellout with lots of action and none of the creepy originality of the Burton films. However, Denby (the reviewer) tends to make some strange calls, so who knows...here's hoping it's good.

What's up with Joel and nipples anyway?

Movie reviewers are always unreliable.

Slightly unrelated, but anything that gets two thumbs way up from Ebert and Roeper immediately has my Spidey-sense tingling! They're both whores to the industry and cannot be trusted.

The only Red flag for me is that in being so "accessible" Dose it say Fuck you to comic fans. I’m going to see it in a couple days, hope its not another Hulk.

I have no interest whatsoever in seeing this film. I'll wait for the DVD maybe even cable.

While the directing of the Burton movies was good the casting of Batman was horrid. Micheal Keaton?

Watching the first two Batman movies on TV recently I'm reminded how cheesy and campy they are compared to X-Men and Spider-Man. It's quite obvious that Tim Burton doesn't care about the Batman mythos in his direction.

Batman is a detective, not a brutal psychopath. In 99% of the comics this is the case. His weapon is his brain, not his brawn or reflexes.

I'm super excited about BB, and will definitely see it, but I'm still waiting for the Batman movie that's more like Raiders of the Lost Ark than it is like Commando.

I haven't been awaiting it with any great fervour, but I have liked what Nolan's done so far, and I like Bale. My one annoyance is that they aren't going for a gothic Gotham, but well, I'm now looking forward to it a whole lot more.

Did anyone see the MTVMA Spoof on Batman begins? That was funny as hell.

What the hell is the MTVMA?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it too, except for the whole love angle part of the story, and DC Comic's shameless rip off of the "Marvel Films" logo I've heard about.

I mean, come on guys, why bother even using it? After Batman and Superman...you pretty much have no other characters you can make a profitable movie out of.

Katie Holmes looks so out of place in this movie. Maybe Tom Cruise likes hanging out in Dawson's Creek, but Bruce Wayne should be checkin' ID.

Tabman Beings has been getting great reviews all around. I was skeptical at first of the franchise after the last two turds, but now I can't wait to see it.

One of the most rediculous comments ever created.

Just got back from a promo showing and it was pretty good. The action scenes are a little hard to follow as everything happens so fast, of course the fights don't look fake if you do this so I guess it's a trade off.

Bale is a great Batman.

85% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/batman_begins/ for lots and lots of reviews. Sure beats the pants off of Batman and Robin's 11% rating :P

I can't wait.

Just got back from seeing this movie.

It was by far the best one of any of the Batman movies. It gave some history and ended with two villains built for a sequel. I like how they did Scarecrow.

Liam Neeson was pretty damn cool in it.

One of the better movies I've seen in a long time
