Just a heads up the latest episode featuring everyone's favorite dog P.I. and hyperkinetic rabbity thingy, titled "Reality 2.0", is now available on Gametap.
And you can get your first month for a mere 99 cents.

I think you mean Episode 5 - Episode 4 was Lincoln Must Die, and has been out for about a month on Gametap.

I'm just going to buy the "Season 1" retail package, I think. Sure I'll have to wait a little while, but when I get it I can sit down for a whole weekend and just play away.

Should we just get to the Weekend gamer thread for me then?

Honestly, much as I've loved them, I don't think I'd really pay retail for the full series. like that.
The episodes are quite short, and being adventure games, lacking much replay value.
With Gametap I get them all as they come out, I play them, and the rest of the month I've got some 800 odd games to play with.

Yeah I can see your point and all J Arcane. I guess I just really don't mind paying more for a whole set with a box. You are talking to a man who owns basically every great LucasArts classic adventure game.
I really wish these guys would do this with Full Throttle 2 as well.

Personally I enjoy the fact that I bought the whole season up front.
This is because once a month I get an e-mail which has a download link in it just for me.
Makes me feel like part of a special club. A club for smart people. With hair.

I am thinking of getting a couple months of gametap once I get the USB adapter for using a 360 controller with a PC. I should be able to rush through all the S&M eps fast, play Prince of Persia again and a few other games.

I bought the whole season up front from Tell Tale, and I have yet to regret it as they have done an excellent job with Sam & Max. I can not wait for the whole season in a box, I am a little giddy to see what extras they include. I would have paid twice the price they asked for the season too, $35 is a steal.

I think that once all of the games are released, Tell Tale will actually send you the retail disc...at least I am pretty sure I read that. I'll have to check.
I am so far behind in this series too, I've only beaten the first 2 and they keep piling up!
I never got far in the original, so I'm having a hard time justifying this. I loved all of the Lucas Arts games, but my favorite series was always Tex Murphy. Bring back Tex! Bring back Tex!!

So I was playing one of the demos, found it hilarious and clever etc etc, but said to myself, "I wish I didnt actually have to play the game." Low and behold I found the episodes played through and recorded on youtube. Just like playing the game... but in low resolution... and with kinda crappy sound... well... at least I couldnt get frustrated not knowing what do next. What do you guys think? Considering the nature of adventure games does that border piracy? And does anyone remember the cartoon?

The cartoon can be had in full as streaming video on Gametap TV. I've seen the whole series. ;)
And the puzzles really aren't that bad. There's been one or two per episode that I've had to look up on the Telltale forums, but that's about it. And they generally make a kind of sense, as opposed to the usualy adventure game logic.
