The Nintendo DS was the best-selling console in Japan once again last week, with Nintendo's own DS Training For Adults: Work Your Brain title topping the software charts - but the market overall continued to experience low sales.

In hardware terms, the DS continued to grow its lead over the PSP, taking over 34 per cent market share this week - compared with just under 23 per cent for the PSP, and slightly over 30 per cent for the PlayStation 2.

Wow! This thing was all over Japan when I was there. Good to see old Ken still kicking *ss ;)

The PSP is in a pretty sorry state in Japan right now... it really starts to look like Nintendo will be able to kick Sony butt. Still some FF/DW might easily reverse the situation.

I don't think anyone CAN argue. DS has had a couple of great launches in the last couple of weeks - but hardly a flood. PSP has broken the great Sony mould. First of all they got things right - Sony release = piss poor hardware availability, but whilst DS did it's part by getting units out, but failing to release software for them, PSP seems to have forgotten the traditional Sony move of then releasing huge piles of great games, thus stealing the show.

DS is kicking PSP ass at the moment. :)

Now, please release Animal Crossing and Katamari Damacy on the DS! :P

I have not bought either...yet. The PSP looks awesome but I'm waiting for a few must have games, the $250 price sure makes me hesitant too. The DS is starting to reach a critical mass of games where I'm willing to bite but I'm not all that impressed with the whole touch screen thing.

Pfft...at least every DS doesn't come with 55+ free dead pixels. I tried someone's PSP the other day and almost half the screen was useless. And he said that at least it was better than the ones he took back!

Has anyone heard of this game?

SD Gundam G Generation DS

I see it on the Japanese charts but have never heard word one about it. Can someone fill me in? Are we going to get it on this side of the pond?

One of those titles that probably isn't going to come over here, at least not for some time. Though go on and import it at lik-sang.com, since the games are compatible on any DS unit.
