Xbox.IGN (http://xbox.ign.com/) has posted an interview (http://xbox.ign.com/articles/623/623718p1.html) with American McGree regarding his latest game, Bad Day L.A.
Hmm...I am less interested in this game after reading the interview.

Probably because it looks worthless. I enjoyed Alice, but this guy is a big nothing anymore. What has he done that was worthwhile since Alice?

He's been doing this, of course.
Seriously, what do you think?

I think I got dumber just reading the interview.

So what we have is something like "Day After Tomorrow" meets "Mad Max" with a main character in the spirit of Dave Chapelle and Ali G.
It's strange -- these words make perfect sense separately, but put them together and it's just gibberish. After saying something like this, it seems to me that McGee has pretty much abandoned any claim to criticize L.A. for shallow showbiz culture.
When we first meet him in the game, he's abandoned all social standards, all "normal" behavior, and is just doing as he pleases. He cares about nothing and no one. Being homeless is liberating like that. If he wants to piss in the street, he does it. If he wants to talk to himself out loud, then so be it. If he wants to make lewd comments about women while rubbing his crotch… well, you get the picture.
There was a great scene in The Fisher King involving a sitcom proposal called "Home Free" that made fun of precisely this kind of bullshit. Too bad American never saw that.
Also: "Damn woman! This baby smells like a dirty butt plug." And to think -- this man's dreams of writing big-budget Hollywood movies never came to fruition? There is truly no justice in this world.

Could be good, but I seriously doubt it.

I'm normally not one to judge a game on it's graphics, but geez, those screenshots look terrible.

I have faith in McGee, he is a twisted compelling story teller.

The interview actually started out good. I thought McGee might have had an epiphany of some sort and a wonder game would be born. But the game just reminds me of Postal. A game about violence for the sake of violence.
American McGee is not a f'in game auteur.
sounds like it could be entertaining for a while but not bring anything anything new to the table or be that great gameplaywise. As long as it's not boring i'll be satisfied

I liked Alice also, but what the hell has he even been doing lately. Remember when American McGee's Wizard of Oz was actually a game-to-be and not just a line of demented action figures?
he's just growing the brand i'm sure.
as disgusting as all that mcfarlane merchandise.

Thanks, you just saved me a few minutes of my life. I'm really getting sick of American running off his past "achievements". But, to be fair, I'll wait to see how this game does just like how I do every other title. I won't hate it before I hear otherwise.

Does American McGee lack legs? I have never seen a picture of the man, and he said it once during a random PC Gamer interview. I have been trying to determine if he was kidding... or if he is really sans legs.

Looks like a cel-shaded GTA ripoff (with bad art direction to top it off). And the premise is just an excuse for all kinds of gratuitous violence and lewdness.

Possibly the least appealing game "hero" I have seen in some time. Who wants to be a crotch-rubbing homeless guy? Any video game character who is far less cool than the people I work with is really gonna struggle to catch my imagination. Combined with the shitty characters and the appalling writing, I can't see why we are supposed to regard Mr. McGee as a genius.
