Peter Molyneux threatens everyone with the promise of quadruplets, as reported by Keith Stuart (http://blogs.guardian.co.uk/games/archives/2005/06/07/black_white_war_immigration_and_the_next_three_gam es_in_the_seriesa.html). From the article: 'Among lots of other interesting details, Lionhead chief Peter Molyneux reveals that there will be five installments to the series, each game following the progression of the relationship between the citizens in the game and the god, represented by the player.'"
God help us all....
Just because the man dropped the ball with fable and bc doesn't mean that he still can't make great games. Afterall he did appologize for fable a couple days after its release date jeopardizing sales. That takes courage.

So Bushido? When is your game coming out?
Oh. Right.
Come on, lets give the man and his team the benifit of the doubt. At lest wait until a game is out before you beat it upside the head. Unless of course, said game is just obviously horrible looking from the outset. Fuck though, this ain't no BMXXX.

Oh! Right.
I love how stupid that arguement makes people look nowadays :).
B&W was a good game too, I just recently reinstalled it,not as good as I remember but it's a fun way to pass time.

It's not an arguement, I really wanted to know for your information. At least until I realized he wasn't developing one, then I immediately felt like his next title would be trash, until I realized he wasn't making one.

If The Movies sucks then there won't be any hope left.

Unlike most gamers, I remember Black and White fondly. It was responsible for my creepiest gaming moment ever. Turns out the devs had made this really long mp3 of selected first names that it could somehow correlate with registry info. So, around the beginning of the second level, after I've been playing for probably 10 hours, it decides to whisper my name to me.
"Jeeerrreeemyyyy" .... "Jeeeeerreeeemy"
First time it happened I thought I was hearing things. Second time I heard it, I jerked away from my computer and sat in this frozen and terrified state waiting for a ghost to emerge from my monitor.
The game actually made me doubt my sanity.
So count me in for the next several.

The downside is that they did features like the name thing instead of making a really solid game. I liked it, and it did a lot of interesting stuff, but the basic mechanics of how you were supposed to compete with the other gods just didn't work too well. I used the standard, "screw around until you're bored, and then nuke the crap out of their altar" technique. It seemed to work.
B&W2 seems to have firmer ideas here. Still, the 5 game series seems kind of weird and arbitrary at this point. Shouldn't you really try and make each game so good that no one could imagine it having a worthy sequel?

but the ways in which you could nuke it were quite clever, i couldnt quite reach one with my faith, and i was too lazy to actually gain any more influence, so i flung rocks at it.
i liked the game, shame it was so damn buggy.

I played 'The Movies' at E3 and the game is looking great.
People like to bash Fable, but my son and his friends played it for MONTHS. I didn't feel ripped off by that game at all.
B&W was fun, it just got boring.
I give the guy credit. At least he TRIES to create new things. Unlike other developers / publishers.

How do you play for months a game that takes 8 hours to beat? Even finding every single thing and buying up the whole damn world takes 20 hours.

I agree with Offworlder. I also enjoyed Black and White and thought it was a good game. The name thing freaked me out too. I was sure one of my roommates was screwing around with me. I didn't realize it was coming from the game until later.
I also had a good time with Fable. It was short and not was I expected but it was still fun.
I'm looking forward to the next Black and White.

I hated everything after the tutorial island, and loved everything ON that island. The Creature Isle expansion was good fun, too. Basically, whenever I wasn't playing the game, and was instead doing my own thing without the 'RTS' (if it can even be called that,) portion pressuring me, it was fun. The game itself absolutely SUCKED in every way, other than the creature. I only had fun when doing my own thing.

Did you guys just hear that? I think that was Will Wright, having an orgasm...

I positively loved B&W. It's amazing how motivated your followers became once you rained lightning down on them at random intervals.

Black and White was fun. I particularly liked the way you had to guesture to summon magic.
