Is nothing Sacred for PC gamers anymore?

According to Actiontrip (http://www.actiontrip.com/rei/comments_news.phtml?id=030907_6) today another PC game is set to move to the Xbox 360.

Ascaron Entertainment said that its upcoming action-flavored RPG, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel, is also in development for Xbox 360. The game was initially announced for PC only. The newly revealed Xbox 360 version supports four player online co-op, on top of two-player (same-screen) co-op and four-player system link co-op.
I for one am excited to see something a bit different coming to the white box. It's no Diablo 2 but it's something different.

I never played the first Sacred (perhaps a demo if I recall), was it any good?

I would like to know, exactly like TrackZero, if the first one is any good?

I played Diablo 2 a whole lot, and I'm in the middle og Titan Quest for the second time. Can it hold up against two so great games?

Heh! karak initially had it as the title to the news post, but I moved it to the body.

It was very similar in premise to Natural Selection, if you've ever played that. Judging from that quote it's changed a lot.

Natural Selection? Isn't that a mod with aliens?

The first Sacred was a 3D Diablo clone with vampires and other stuff. I really liked the graphics and quests etc., but some minor GUI troubles made it irritating for me to play. The most annoying was when you clicked creatures to attack you often clicked the ground (because it was moving) and your character moved around getting hit alot. Especially on a horse.

My nephew played it alot and number 2 could be very good I think. If they tweak the GUI a bit and keep the PC game development seperate from the console.

Having bought Sacred: Gold during one of my anti-Diablo II periods, It was a decent game.

Nothing impressive, only decent. If you want a better Diablo II clone; get Titan Quest.

Sacred did a few things relatively well with the wide open game world and some really cool class features; but the game was generally unbalanced and just a tad bit more repetitive than it should be due to the lack of skill choices.

That said; if you need a hack'n'slash diablo II ripoff, for $20 or cheaper you should be able to get quite a bit out of Sacred.

Personally I liked Sacred. It was Diablo with horses. It allowed you to clear areas so enemies didn't come back and had a pretty damn good combo-magic system that involved runes. It's characters were also a bit on the cool side. I think for a 360 game it will be interesting to see just how they do the control and what they can do with it.

Oh. I must be thinking of something else.

I really liked Sacred a lot. I'm not even a Diablo fan, but nothing about Sacred was fun for me. I liked the whole world you explored and how it displayed on the map.

'Sphincter'? Alright then.

Honestly, I think I just enjoyed the world as a whole a lot more in Sacred. But if I'm a 'Sphincter', fine.

Hey Adam I think he was pointing out a grammer error. You said nothing about Sacred was fun for me. It sounds odd when you said you liked Sacred alot.

Sacred did a great job of bringing back the 'old timer' PC gamer feel. If anyone played the Sierra 'Quest' series, the Ultima series, Wizardry, Might and Magic, etc... then try to remember the writing and the in-jokes that put those games a head above your average game experience, and that's what Sacred does well. It's almost as though the game has things that are nice little love letters to that era of gaming. I can't wait for this.

Sacred had lots of cool ideas, and lots of bugs, and lots of powers that were useless and many that were less effective the more you powered them up.

But it had some of the coolest gear designs and characters to play as. May the good parts carry on and the bad parts be left behind.

I loved Sacred, and ended up playing through the entire thing. If you're diehard diablo 2, and you simply can't get enough, Sacred is your game. Actually, Titan Quest is your game, but Sacred is a more refreshing take on the same idea. Titan Quest just puts a different skin with a few cool features over an almost identical set up.

The horses, the open ended world, the neat character classes, the cool gear set ups, the spells and combos, it's all cool, and it all works. The story is even mildly interesting.

Cool, at the very least Sacred 2 sounds like a fun rental for the 360.

The 360 needs more RPG's. So I am glad to see another RPG for the system.

I didn't really like Sacred because the world was too huge. It took forever to get anywhere even if you had a horse.

Being PC-only, the only good thing about this for me is that if they're making it for console, no patches, they'll actually have to make a game without huge glaring bugs crawling out of it. It was an OK clone concept. The only problems were:

- No story. No motivation.

- Bland, at best, characters. Whoa, we can have a vampire! That's not old! Or an angel! The dark elf one was quite good though.

- Respawning enemies that will follow you forever.

- Bugs. Lots of bugs. Crash bugs, freeze bugs, quest bugs, GUI bugs, graphics bugs, sound bugs. More bugs than the Insect Museum.
