1up.com has released the fourth day of the 2007 Most Wanted Games List. Today is the PC. You can read Day 4: PC, here. (http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3157509)
With the consoles dominating the gaming market over the last few years, the PC has played host to a few specialized titles and a lot of ports. But now Microsoft is really pushing the "Games for Windows" brand...and it looks like it might already be starting to pay off.

LotR Online is one of the most anticipated of the year?
Have we heard anything about Huxley recently?
Otherwise no big surprises.

Wow, SEVEN of those games are also on the 360.
These lists are really showing how dominant cross-platform games are now.

Not a single mention of Warhammer Online or Age of Conan. I can't be the only one just waiting for these games can I?

Yes, that very thing surprised me as well. They mention LotR, but no Conan or WAR. I'm not even interested in LotR. On the other hand, Spore and Quakewars are at the top of my list.

My day has finally come...and many of those games will end up on my list for 2008.
Huxley, Spore, Dragon Age are not going to make it out in 2007.

Sweet seven FPSs, who wouldn't be excited?
So what's it about Crysis that makes it so wanted besides the pretty graphics?

For fucks sake (the acronym didn't fully express my utter annoyance).
FPS,
FPS,
RPG,
FPS,
FPS,
FPS,
FPS,
RPG,
RPG (a bit generalised for spore, but close enough),
FPS.
I count 2 genres. Give or take. I would like to know if anyone else is truly fed up with First Person Shooters.

If Crytek gets it right, it will revolutionize online shooter gameplay, and multiplayer.

It would have been nice to throw in CnC to mix it up a bit. After CnC what other RTSs are coming out?

So people are looking forward to the LOTR game? They could have just dropped Left 4 Dead and noone would have noticed.

The games on the list all look good, but it's also kind of disapointing, FPS games dominating that much.

If it doesn't launch this year I'm totally not going to buy it, that game was supposed to be out like last year.

"The game sold 2.4 million copies and earned up to US$125 million in its first 24 hours on store shelves." Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_2#Reception)

It only applies to video games. Stupid pop singer hacks don't count.
Codi to Exodus: You are a cockjockey and I am sick of your cockjockery. ;p

It was supposed to be out in 2003, too. There's no way the game can live up to it's original hype. And after four years of delays and being gimped numerous times, I can definitely see why it wouldn't make a top ten list for 2007 - before or after its release.

I count 2 genres. Give or take. I would like to know if anyone else is truly fed up with First Person Shooters. The market has shown time and again that there is little chance of a game outside of the primary genres (FPS,RPG, RTS & Adventure) to find success. Those that do find success are from companies with profound experience in such an endeavor AND can take such a chance. If you are a small studio, you make something of a different genre and it tanks in the market... Good luck to you and your employees. Sales drive development, especially so in the modern age of PC Gaming.
Irrational themselves have already stated that if Bioshock does not do well, you should not expect another type of game like this from them.
This list stinks too, very poor representation of 2007 games.

I am excited about 90% of those titles. Hardware upgrade will be necessary, but since i've probably got about a year for launch and bug fixing on most of those titles, its all good.
Why is Epic selling tits?
I'd much rather see that than male parts. Who wants to play a game with a dood running around in a g-string or something. All those against such a travesty say "Aye". AYE!

What Crytek is promising, at least, and I hope they deliver. Is that each person, online, can customize their gun and arsenal(their kit) to precisely suit their play style and reflect that to a T. Which is why I quantify with, if Crytek delivers. Their concept has a shot to be revolutionary. This is not just unlocking new guns, or abilities like in say Battlefield or others. If you can taylor a gun to perfeclt suit how you play, that has never been done before.

Well, if you can find it, Sean Elliot's E3 preview of like 06 or 05 where Crytek laid this all out. It got kind of burried.

I just don't get these lists... They're so full of multi-platform bullshit. How does that advertise the best of what the system has to offer? Especially when it has just as good, if not better, exclusives that you left off? The 360 list was most blatant, and even the PS3 must have at least 10 games worth owning coming out this year. 7 also-360 games on the PC list... Sheesh.
The Wii was all exclusives, far as I can remember, but some of those made no sense. I mean, Cooking Mama might be fun, I guess, but to be ranked up with Brawl, Prime, and Galaxy in anticipation levels? Come ON.
Bizarre, and pretty much stupid, lists. Nice job, IGN.

Hellgate- named so because of the forced upgrade to *** Vista.
And it should have been on the list.
As for Huxley, vaporware waiting till we all get fiber straight to our PC.
