2007 Most Wanted Games

With that new-system smell still hanging in the air, 2007 is shaping up to be one of those great years for gaming, the kind that only come around once a decade or so. There are so many great-looking games on the horizon that it's a bit overwhelming, actually. So we pored through literally hundreds of games to pull out 10 of the most exciting titles for each system. Over the next seven days, we'll go through system by system and share our choices with you.

Day 1: Wii | Day 2: PlayStation 3 | Day 3: Xbox 360 | Day 4: PC
Day 5: PSP | Day 6: Nintendo DS | Day 7: PlayStation 2

That Wii list is pretty much on par with what I want this year, but I have my doubts on Crystal Chronicles, Dragon Quest and Resident Evil coming in 07.

Is RE umbrella chronicles really what they say it is? Seems silly to remake RE1 again, after they did it on the Gamecube.

I think if I remember correctly it takes parts from RE 1 - 4 and puts them together in one game. Don't quote me on that though.

I sure hope Nintendo announces more games for the Wii soon. I know it is pretty typical to get a drought 3-9 months after a console's release. All I'm looking forward to on that list is Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy, and Super Paper Mario. I also doubt the '07 release of most of those titles.

It sure would be sweet to get an announcement of another Pikmin game due out in October and maybe some new IP before the end of the year.

They forgot Sadness. Very cool looking, very unique looking game. I don't know much about it yet, but I'm intrigued by the art style and choice of black and white mid 1800's setting. I get the feeling it is going to be like Eternal Darkness or a really good Cthulu plot. God I hope so.

I still want to know more about Day of Disaster. As in exactly how will it play, when is it coming out and does it play anything like Disaster Report.

They could of put Tiger Woods, MySims and Manhunt 2 on that list.

PS2 does look kinda thin, last time I checked it was God of War 2 and tons of Japanese games that have yet to be translated (Persona 3, Yakuza 2)... although stuff keeps getting announced, like the aforementioned Manhunt 2 and some Jedi game.

That's odd. I really wish they would remake Resident Evil 2. The first time Mr. X broke through the wall blew my mind. Nemesis kind of lost me though. I didn't really care about making bullets, and the tension of the Nemesis chasing you was always ruined by him yelling "STARS!". It was comically bad. Oh well, add another game for me to buy. You put RE on the box and I'm in. I even bought the first Gun Survivor. I need help.

EDIT: Oh shit, I can replay that on the PSP! Hell yeah! I love this.

Super Paper Mario is at the top of my list currently.

I just hope the game is a decent length.

Super Mario Galaxy or Super Smash Bros. Brawl, only one of those will be out this year.

Wow, I would buy all of those games. Well, maybe not so much Whipping Boy and Total Kung Fu, but the others sound awesome.

Smash Brothers is what is going to make me buy a Wii. I must have played 1 and 2 more than any other game I've ever played.

Edit: I'd actually buy most of those games from pointlesswast. I think Killchain could actually work as a really great game.

I think, personally, that Tiger Woods is going to be huge for the Wii, but of that list, I'm most looking forward to Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros. and...um...Cooking Mama: Cook Off.

I just wish Cooking Mama had online multiplayer, if for no other reason than the bizarre trash talk that would ensue.

And I doubt that it'll be coming this year, but if the Wii Animal Crossing comes out this year it very much is going to be on the top of my list. That Sims game may *look* like Animal Crossing, but it's ultimately the play mechanics that I don't like about the Sims, and unless that changes, it's not gonna get me to play it.

That if is not the plan already, that idea would be just awesome if capcom can a updated RE4 engine that would be really sweet.
