Over on Game Trailers you can now find a new trailer for FFXII: Revenant Wings. This trailer shows off some hot airship action from the game.

QuickTime Video (http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17281&type=mov&pl=game), Windows Media Video (http://www.gametrailers.com/player.php?id=17281&type=wmv&pl=game), Game Trailers FFXII Game Page (http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=3491)

Flying around in your own airship looks awesome.

This looks fantastic. It has the atomosphere and look of a 2D graphically enchanced sequel to Final Fantasy VI. While I like the direction some of the newer Final Fantasy games have taken, seeing a brand new game in the series with beautiful 2D art has me excited.

I also dig the use of the real time battle system. The attempt to pull at my nostalgic heartstrings with that music, though, is a bit much.

Another reason why the DS is shaping up to become the best system ever.

Looks really nice. I've been wanting an RPG on my DS (not much interest in any of the current ones) so hopefully this will meet that need for me.

The game is looking sharp with the latest trailer. :)

I can probably be bold enough to say that the game seems to be shaping up as a realtime strategy-RPG of sorts. I'll see.

Out of all the people posting, I'm probably going to be the black sheep... But, I'm a little Square-Enix'd out for now. I've been playing the shit out of FFIII DS, and this game just seems like more of the same.

For once I'm going to bitch and moan over a Square title. I just wish they'd visit one of their untapped franchises, like the Chrono series. Then I'd have something to get excited about...

The whole Final Fantasy thing just feels like a game of madlibs... You, the player, plays a suave/angsty/self righteous prince/orphan/unspoken hero is brought forth to fight for your country/space garden/kingdom/family in order to thwart the evil mutant/evil prince/space pirate. In doing so you'll need to unlock the secrets of the 7 crystals/elementals/avatars and combine their power to create the ultimate magic/sword/armor and destroy the evil in the land.

Along the way you can also go collect the bugs/creatures/gems and unlock all classes/ranks/races and bring for the ultimate purple dog/1 hit robot/giant enemy crab and slay him for the pride of bragging to your friends.

I'll probably pick this one shortly after launch.

I didn't care about FFXII, but this looks interesting. I still hate the main character's design though.

I like how it almost looks like it has a bit of an RTS feel.

Hah nice BadCRC :P

I'm not a big fan of the leads design, either. Silly japanese and their he-she hybrids.

For this game, I'm just hoping I can get by without playing XII. I saw my roommate play it for a bit and some of the characters in this (bunny chic, etc) look the same.

This is a direct sequal to XII, so you may be a bit lost, or not get some plot points if you haven't played it.

Anyway, I really can't wait for this one. The combat looks really interesting and I'm curious to see what they do with the plot.
