Saw a link over at Eurogamer (www.eurogamer.net) that 2 new screens from Rare's Xbox 360 game Perfect Dark Zero have appeared in this forum (http://www.rare-extreme.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8186).
Look much improved over previous screens to me.

The grapics really do not impress me considering this is a next-gen title, but I'm willing to overlook that fact if the multiplayer turns out to be as good as the first one. I seriously doubt that this game will have the same impact on the 360 that say..Halo had on the Xbox though.

Well, that's better.
Now can they please make the box art better? Her face... seems, wrong.

Not bad. Especially considering that games nowadays always look WAY better in motion.

If that is at 1080i with 60 fps, then that it looks great to me.

I wonder what's up with the Metroid/Replicator/Spider bot things... they look cool though.
Looks pretty cool to me. Was there any footage from E3? Was it even shown at E3???
What good is E3 if it can't show me the latest updates to the most delayed franchises!?! ;)

Computer & Video Games has a story from OXM about "played" multiplayer and a snipit about the single player offering. Looks promising, indeed.

It got pulled at the last minute at E3, presumably because of the, ahem, muted response it got from everyone following the MTV special.

I'm still not that impressed... but from what I've read. The multiplayer has potential to be amazing.
I've sure missed punching someone, stealing his gun while he's dizzy and getting a good head shot.

Heh, yeah, multiplayer ruled! That first screen looks purty, I just wish someone could dig up some higher-res shots. Those ones are a bit on the small side.
This game still reminds me of when killzone 1 showed these crazy graphics at first then they slowly got worse and worse, I can forsee this for this game.

Wait, you must be speaking of Killzone 2. Its graphics can only get worse, and will.

It was said earlier, but it bares mentioning again: nowadays you need to see the game in action, as screen shots can only reveal so much. Cubemaps are one of those things that you can kind of get a feel for in a screenshot, but seeing it in motion gives you a much better perspective.
That being said, I am slightly underwhelmed by these shots. Hopefully bigger screen grabs and seeing the game in motion will impress.

Those screens look pretty good. I'm a sucker I'll be picking up the game no matter what.

Especially if you have stuff like screens filled with spiders or 64-player Live play. There are tradeoffs, even with the raw power of the next gen.

Yeah, I'm waiting for some video to be released before I decide whether or not the visuals will be worth the wait (and price)...

I'm way more interested in Kameo: Elements of Power. I wish they would get off some of the details on that game.
If they manage to ship Kameo and PD0 at launch that will be 3 Rare games finished in 1 year (+ Conker if that makes its date later this month). That has to be some kind of fucking record or something. I have a feeling that one of these 2 games is going to miss the 360 launch. My money is on Kameo since that has only been delayed 19 times so far.

There's a Spinner in the first shot! Who gives a flippin' poo-taco about the graphics... We should all be speculating about whether or not we'll get to drive the Spinner.
(For those of you with less developed geek muscles: Spinner = Spiffy flying car from the film Blade Runner)

Are we looking at the same pictures? What is next gen about these shots? They look decidedly unimpressive to me. They are small and you can't see any details and there is nothing in there that could not be done on the Xbox today. What am I missing? Oh, I know, you all forgot to take off your fanboy glasses! That must be it.

They don't look like total ass anymore, but I've seen better on my PC. Aren't screenshots supposed to be balls to the walls, hold nothing back, this is the best we got good?

Considering they're shooting for 60+ people per game, I can accept simple graphics, personally. Just deliver gameplay, ample weapon selection, and quality enviroments -- you know, the easy stuff. :D

That first shot looks quite good. It's not showing anything particularly impressive, in terms of geometry, but the lighting right makes it look real. That's probably the best diffuse outdoor lighting I've ever seen. Very moody, sun-set type of thing.

Why the hell did they show such shitty screenshots at E3 if this is what the game looks like?

Err.. This seems to be a common claim from the haters, "Nothing that could not be done on the xbox today." Well thats pretty silly and just not true.
Doom 3 is currently the mountain top of Xbox development. Now, that's based on a year old first generation game engine running at 30 fps and max 480p resolution. Now, you take that very same game and make a system that can run it in 1080i at 60 fps and well, that's a pretty big leap in image quality (hopefully you've actually seen 1080i HD know what I'm talking about, maybe not though), and certainly far, far more that the Xbox can handle.
Now, PD will add on the ability to display tons of enemies onscreen with fairly advanced AI (compared to Doom3 at least) with many special view effects. And its a first generation game. Anyone else remember the first generation games for PS1, PS2, or Xbox1? I'd say we're undoubtedly getting the best looking 1st gen games (relatively) ever.
And yet people complain and whine wondering why it doesn't look like Killzone 2... Good job, Sony.

You might want to hold off on claims like that. You know, until we at least play those first gen games, and probably until we see the second and third wave. Considering you are criticizing people for being impressed by the Killzone 2 footage.

Because Summoner and SSX looked so much better than PS1 games?
Sorry, you're wrong.

No, because none of these machines have even launched, and everything we've seen has been pretty abstracted. Once people start writing closer to bare metal, these early games are going to look like shit.
