Contact on the DS is a strange little bugger. At the start, I didn't like it at all. I finished up the previous game, and had Contact with me, so I figured I'd give it another shot. It turned into a charming little title that I can't quite classify.

I'll be playing Ratchet & Clank, which I've had for many years now but never got around to finishing. I need to finish FFXI and Psychonauts, as well, so I'll be putting some time into those as well.

I love being able to just grab all the great titles I missed out on for cheap which is one of the reasons why I haven't invested in a 360 yet.

Driving over gang members is by far the quickest way to level driving. The key is to drive at them slowly. Seriously!

I have been playing since Launch Day in NA. I take my Job as a Dark Knight VERY Seriously. It took me 6 months alone of farming in the Gusgen Mines, Mining up Darksteel, synthing it into Ingots, and Fighting the Gilsellers TOOTH AND NAIL, to get my Haubergeon +1. Yes, I'm insane. But I also have a point to prove to all the idiot Elvaan Drks.

I have Macros to switch in More Accuracy gear as need be. But I just mostly eat Sole Sushi to add more Str, ACC, and HP.

Trust me...When I hit something...IT NOTICES. I died twice last weekend because the level 75 Paladin could not keep the mob off of me for anything. RNG AF3 NM. The First time I didn't hold back. It was admirable the job the Pld was doing, but I warned him I was going to die, and he refused to believe that I would die because he felt his skills were that good. I stated...DUDE...I have 96 STR. 96. Do you understand that?

Yeah...Soo...

Half an hour later, I'm eating snow because I am getting hit so hard and so fast after 3 normal hits and 1 guillotine, with NO BUFFS, that the White Mage could not keep us healed to save her life. Everything was going into me to try and keep me alive. Hell, not even the Paladin using everything in the book INCLUDING INVINCIBLE got it off of me!! And I didn't even Zerk, LR, or Use Souleater.

Even to the point of unequipping my bracelets, my shoes, my pants, my belt, switching to my Mythril heart to do less damage, and activating defender AND Turning my back to the mob so as that I would hit it less. IT STILL went after me. I sat there for 10 minutes watching the paladins hit it, and the ranger as well. I turn around and Hit it once, and BOOM, it SMACKS me for 556, then 333 Damage in two hits. :eek:


Yeah....good times.

Did I mention I hate the taste of snow?

Btw, the Paladin was very well equipped and given the circumstances, was doing a damned good job.

I'm guessing by the eating snow comment you were doing one of the Northlands Dynamis areas (or maybe Jormy)? Very nice gear though, the new Salvage gear looks amazing, although hard as hell to get.

And yeah, I know something about the insanity of making gil, my fishing skill is at 86.7 right now, and I actually did the Lu Shang quest before I hit 30. ;)

After 2 months without a gaming computer, my new beast* of a system is done. So I think I'll be playing some DoD and restarting Oblivion now that I can run it smoooothly. I'd love to squeeze in some Zelda on sunday but I'm afraid the weekend will be too busy. Oh and I'll be making some more progress in Hotel Dusk.

It's nice to see I'm not the only person playing the Frozen Throne expansion for War3. I just borrowed my buddy's copy last weekend and have been playing it most of this week. Just started the Alliance campaign last night.

I have to say, alternating between playing The Frozen Throne and WoW, you can really see the design choices that they were already making with the expansion (and War3 in general) that ended up in WoW. It's also cool because now when the army I'm commanding goes somewhere in Frozen Throne, I actually know where that is outside of just being some tileset on a map since I've been running around there for the last few years in WoW!

Other than WoW and The Frozen Throne, I've been spending most of my gaming time playing Hotel Dusk on the DS. So it looks like that'll be what I do for most of this weekend, what with me having to work Saturday and Sunday :(

Oh, and I'm trying to get enough Meteoseses to unlock planet Meteos in, well, Meteos. There might be a little God of War or Rogue Galaxy mixed in and I just unlocked the Super Excite circuit on Excite Truck, so I'll probably fire that up for a bit, but it looks like it'll be mostly Warcraft-related fun and Hotel Dusking going on for me this weekend.

Shortly after the last "Weekend Gamer" thread, I completed both Final Fantasy [Dawn of Souls] (good-bye Chaos!) and Final Fantasy Crack [III] (DS) (good-bye Cloud of Darkness!).

Now I've re-continued where I left off with Final Fantasy V Advance and started Final Fantasy Crack [VI] Advance. :D

Note: Final Fantasy V Advance is gathering dust, as I have become completely absorbed with VI Advance. By the time I manage to finish this game, I wouldn't be surprised if I re-pick up Final Fantasy II [Dawn of Souls] and/or begin Final Fantasy IV Advance in the near future, and still neglect V Advance. :cool:

I was thinking of trying to kite the doll around the room with Gravity as 75 blm/rdm and take him out with DoT's, with the occasional nuke thrown in. I should be able to keep Blink and Stoneskin up at all times, and I wouldn't have to worry about blood aggro from any of the undead in the area. I'd bring plenty of Yag drinks (like a full inventory lol). I know there's a similiar startegy for a 60 rdm to solo him, I figure it's could be fun to try. If it looks too bleak, I could always just Manafont ->Stun -> Warp. :)

Well, I need to get my last star in both firearms and explosives in Crackdown (and hopefully play some co-op with someone), and I'm sure I'll screw around quite a bit. I played through the first dungeon in Lunar Knights, and that was fun, so I'll be picking that up for at least one or two sessions over the weekend. I'll also be playing WoW, maybe getting my druid up to 62, or leveling my new mage and paladin. Of course, I also have home work to do, but I can get it done with two hours or less per day starting today, and ending Monday night, so no big deal there.

Today is my birthday, and my lovely wife got me a Wii (found one at Sam's of all places). I'll be playing Wii Sports and Zelda TP. My wife is the best.

My Dreamcast has more hours on it than my PS2 and Xbox put together. Yes I am completely serious. I'm not sure any system will ever match the DC for me. With oddballs like Fishing and Samba coupled with classic Japanese 2D fighters, it was like the system was tailored for the 20 something arcade dwellers that lost all their arcades.

I also need to burn some movies, a little less then 50 hours worth. That is going to burn some time. I highly doubt I will finish that. I hope to actually watch some of that film as well. Seeing as how the weekend is 48 hours, and I might have that much to burn, something tells me I won't be seeing it all.

Might pick up Oblivion on the way home today. I was waiting for the price to drop but I figure I might as well take the plunge; haven't had a decent RPG fix in a while.

Speaking of decent RPG fixes...I'm still working on Ultima Underworld II...about halfway through...

Oblivion made me sad...I thought that the generic leveling enemies was almost as bad, if not worse, as randomly generated dungeons...it just leaves me feeling like I'm playing an MMORPG, and strikes me as slightly lazy on the dev parts.

But, there really isn't much else on the 360 side as far as RPGs go...so it should be a good time...I really thought the combat really was excellent, which only reinforced my dissappointment when dealing with generically leveled characters.

i did that once, got off work at midnight, started playing by 12:30. suddenly it was 9 am and i had to be in by 10

i also played guitar hero 2 until 2 am today. 5 starred all of medium and some of hard (the first 3 sets). resistance is up for tonight, if anyone wants to play multi, let me know.
