Activision has licensed (http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4795&Itemid=2) the Unreal Engine 3 for a yet unannounced title.Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, added, “We’ve admired them for a long time and we’re pleased that they’ve chosen to use Unreal Engine 3 and we’re confident they’re going to make a great game with it.”
Now begins speculation on the game in question – whether that be a new franchise or one that is already established.

Hmm...Activision? Most likely a sequel/remake. Haven't seen something fresh from them in a while.

Seems like a bit of a slap in the face to id given that all of their games as well as Raven's which use an id engine are all published by Activision.

hmm i wonder if id is angered by this development.

Too bad for id, but really as far as bang for the buck goes, Unreal Engine 3 is way ahead of the Doom 3 engine. It also helps that modification and level editing is likely much easier on UE3.

Of course, having a triple platinum game all over the 360 right now really seals the deal.

Not surprising. The U3 engine is seemingly becoming the de facto 3D engine for this generation of consoles, especially for anything 3rd person/FPS related. Seems Epic made a very robust and powerful engine that is easy to use, and people are siging on...imagine that?

Didn't they do the Jedi Knight games?

Oh and they are supposed to have a James Bond game in 2008 ish.

New vampire bloodlines game please, though they never really were responsible for them merely publishing I would like one. Thank you in advance.

Oh and make it better!

It's for a new James Bond game.

Yeah, did you hear that Doritos use the Unreal 3 engine?! :p

Though the chances of this are quite slim, given that Activision only published while Raven developped... I think it's about time for Soldier of Fortune 3. Who's with me ;) ?

I'm up for a SOF3. But a half decent Bond game would be quite welcome as well.

Are we listing random games at this point?

Activision refused to pay to license the Soldier of Fortune name for a third sequel, which is why that title never happened.

I say "No" to a SoF3, but it would be pretty easy for them to make their own "Mercenary for hire" license if they wanted to go that route.

Kudos to Epic for getting the deal. I guess a new Interstate '76 deal is too much to hope for.

My opinion is that Interstate '76 could be re-released on Wii VC, XBLA, Sony Online, and PSP as-is with controls carefully tuned for each platform and it would do extremely well. I miss that franchise! :o

No, listing the game that I believe Activision would pony up the cash for a pricey engine license. Are you just posting random comments instead of providing anything useful to the conversation?

Well maybe you should have clarified why you posted only a game title in a thread in which you had no prior posts....and spare me the attitude...you should spend that energy editing your previous post so people understand why you go around posting game titles with no supporting information.

Dumbass here comes into a thread...posts only a game title with no hints at all as to why he posted just a game....and then gives me an attitude when I call him out. Sorry to burst your bubble...you thought you could just grace every thread with your presence...drop a few random two word posts and we would all love you for it. Another deluded egomaniac...thats we all need.

There was a summer where that was THE game to play on live. I was ugly as sin, but the enviros were vibrant, and the combat was so spot on.

Actually there were 6 previous guesses to a game title, I made a 7th. I felt the precedence of guessing the title had been set in previous posts and an Activision game title alone would be sufficent in communicating my personal guess. I find it humurous my presentation offends you so. Honestly I just prefer brevity, there is no malicious intent to bruise your fragile reality where post count and superfluous use of words = quality of post.

What about Pitfall for XBLA, not the first time UE3 would be used for an arcade game. :p
