For comparison's sake, here's a screenie of the original:

Looks like just the right amount of updating in the visuals. Seeing the original screen from the Speccy game made me all gooey!

It wasn't stolen. It was just a little late in showing up for the party... It had some shit to do, man! :o

That's only the beginning, though. Before you know it, the whole alphabet is on strike!
Anyway! That's lookin' pretty nice. Any word on if they're including the original with the new version?

I know! I've had that happen in the past. One minute you're happily typing away and the next minute the whole damn alphabet has gone and deserted you or buggered off into stealth mode!
I would love it if Rare was able to include the original... You reading this, Rare?

Thanks for shrinking the image sizes down.
I'd be more interested in the original. The remake seems cluttered. Why do people insist on 'reskinning' the old games? Are they ashamed of seeing pixels or something?
I have yet to play a re-skinned game that I enjoyed more than the original.

Check out the updates of the mario series on the GBA, or even Super Mario All Stars for the SNES. Those are awesome reskinned remakes.
Mario2 reskinned on GBA is very very nice.
also Mega Man Powered up, the reskinned Mega Man with 3d super-deformed graphics for psp, is a AWESOME remake of MegaMan, with really great graphics.
I agree. FF3 on DS was awesome too. They did a fantastic job.
Mega-man Powered Up was also great on the PSP.
There is nothing wrong with a facelift, it just can't loose the core gameplay or distract you.
In other words, graphics for the sake of graphics is bad, graphics that make things clearer/easier to play is better.

It's not just a "reskin" like Time Pilot, Double Dragon, Frogger, etc. It's a great update. Believe me, when you're playing it, it's not "busy", it's just right and going back to the original really makes you appreciate the "update".
This one's a winner.
(Or at least, that's what I hear ;) )

Looks Shiny. I just hope the achievements aren't as brutal to get as Jousts were.

Cool. I look forward to giving it a shot. I still hope they include the original version as well.

They do and it rocks. This is a day-1 purchase and I never say that and I'm no nostalgic fanboy of the first one either, it's just that fun... in a blast-the-crap-outta-everything-like-GeoWars kinda way.
