TalkXBox (http://www.talkxbox.com/article1200.html) has the concept art up for the XBox 360 console. A few interesting things to note; the kiosk will contain a 23" HDTV, a headphone jack, and a memory card slot.
Pretty awesome that it contains a memory card slot. I wonder if there's going to be unique content located at kiosks?

You know, this is kinda cool! First, that's a big screen. The kicker is that memory card slot. At frist it could be used to download little things like stickers for your virtual car for people who have the console at home. Eventually, it will be used to hack the kiosk to show dirty pictures of your best friend's mom so all the kids in Toys R Us can see.

Unless you lose your memory card in the middle of the town/leave it in there/are confronted by the one fucking moron who intends to make life miserable for everyone else by being a dick, i.e. ripping your card out mid-save thus wiping the entire card (See PS2).

Nice gen 1 Xbox controllers painted white on that thing. Who ever the artist is, he should have paid attention to the controller design.

They won't because this is as fake as the hair on Burt Reynold's napper.

I'm not so sure, this is the second time I've seen this. Only time will tell.

I hope it's real, but I simply can't see it being so. Then again, didn't Microsoft and Samsung recently announce that they were partnering up to help bring HDTV and Xbox 360 to the masses? Going on that, I suppose it's possible.

Since the concept of having a memory card slot is obviously completely useless, this is therefore a legit setup from MS.

Ouch! My sarcasm detector just started beeping.

This is a fake. Notice the sideways Halo 2 screenshot on the screen and the huge, painted white Xbox 1 controllers.

I love the idea of bonus content (or just microtransactions for those without broadband at home? . . . blah, best not to think about it) from the kiosk as being a way to drive store traffic. But driving traffic seems contrary to the next kiosk feature I will mention . . .
Headphone jacks? That would seem to encourage long play sessions at the kiosk, not quick bursts of demo play and content sharing. Of the retail gaming establishment employees that I know, none of them like the customer that is just there to play the demo machines. Hell, I know a lot of store managers that "forget" to turn on the demo units on weeknights and sometimes even weekends with the excuse that "the demo unit is broken".
Translation?
"Get your freeloading butt outta my store if you aren't buying anything, hippie."

Yeah, MS announced at E3 that they had partnered with Samsung to put HDTVs into X360 kiosks.
That picture may not represent the final configuration, but there WILL be kiosks coming before the holidays and they WILL have HDTVs. As for the rest, who knows.

This has got to be fake. Why would Microsoft release a concept design showing what is obviously original XBOX controllers? I call shenanigans.

What precisely is so hard to believe? It's a kiosk. As if such things are unheard of. It's a kiosk with an HD set instead of a regular one. As if we couldn't see that coming. It's a kiosk that highlights the look of the console. Unfathomable! It's a kiosk with a memory card slot. OMFG that's never been done before, that's unpossible!
Seriously, I had to look back at the picture four times to figure out WTF was supposedly so hard to believe. It's a kiosk with some minor new features.

What I'm wondering is that black controller at the bottom right of the screen? Looks like it has a logic logo on it, one analog stick and the four main buttons, some kind of cable coming out the top that's cut off.....

i can agree with most of you saying that this could be a possibility as well as not, but the fact is, its only a concept, hence it's not even a real picture. it's a computer generated image if you look close enough. but bapenguin said it best: "Only time will tell".
