There's a new "magazine" of sorts out for your PSP, and it's only available on your PSP (well, PC too). PSP Complete (http://www.pspcomplete.com/) is a new magazine designed to be viewed on your PSP. It contains reviews, opinions and tips and tricks. You can download the June issue here. (http://www.pspcomplete.com/PSP_Complete_Magazine-June05-Edition.rar)

Nice, but the file is a freakin' rar. Guess they have to wait until I can install some rar extractor.

So, it is a series of pictures you flip through?

Using this method, you could make a 'magazine' you can view on your cell phone or ipod photo.

Lame!

1) It's free.
2) It plays very well to the PSP's nice wide screen
3) It's free.

I wouldn't call this a 'magazine'.

In a magazine, you have the ability to flip to whatever section you want. You can read articles out of order, skip straight to the reviews and use the table of contents to find your way around. A web site is much more like a magazine than this. This is a linear series of images.

I would call this a 'slide show'.

(Although 'film-strip' could also work for those of us old enough to remember them from elementary school.)
(Can't call it a Power Point though since Power Point at least has the option for transitions and sound.)

It's a pity EA lost the old db, it would be fun to remind people about that unforgettable post where you reply to yourself in supremely idiotic fashion, if only to illustrate your (obvious) agenda for those who might think you are actually levelling honest criticism. Just give it the fuck up already, Kamaltoe.

These guys are clearly not commercial licenced developers or else they would have the ability to create a "magazine" where you could page through sections and include other types of content like audio, etc. It still is a magazine in the sense it does have sections and CONTENT. And it's FREE.

Awesome idea. Hopefully as the homebrew software scene grows they'll be able to put a proper index and suchlike on this. I don't own a PSP so I don't know what the deal is there, and I can't appreciate how the magazine looks on the PSP screen, but it looks alright on my PC :)

Perhaps this will become a more popular medium for magazines in the future? It's definitely got a lot of potential. Add some interactivity and you could read the review, like the sound of it, hit a button to jump to the demo, play it, come back, carry on reading - that kind of stuff would be really neat.

If I could wirelessly download this to my PSP or view it online, I'd be more interested.
(Natively, not using the Wipeout hack.)

There are also comics around @ http://www.pspcmx.com/pspcmx/default.asp. It is free stuff and some of them really do look great on the PSP. I am just glad to see people taking the time to do things like this regardless of what system it is for.

Where do you people come from? Is there some contingent of 12 year olds out there that just read this forum waiting to flame anybody and anything at a moments notice? I hardly call Krusades criticism fanboyisim. Or is calling somebody a fanboy like the new catch phrase that you say whenever somebody says something that goes against your own opinions? I don't like popcorn...OMG you fanboy!!!

You can be on your way now.

Whining about a positive and free effort is indicative of exactly that 12 year old contingent you speak of.

I like this idea and it's cool that this is free, but I do have one gripe. Mainly, it's writing is at about a 3rd grade level. Honestly, "Twisted Metal: Head on is a good game to have on the PSP. Its a very good game but, it gets kind of repetitive after you've beaten it a few times." I don't mean to sound like too much of a dick, but this is some supremely bad writing.

It's great in theory, but until the guys who made it get out of middle school maybe they should find some new writers.

However, if it is a bunch of 3rd graders who made this, then my hat goes off to them.

Just so you know most newspapers/magazines are written at a 10th grade level. That way they can reach the majority of readers.
