Holy crud I can't believe Advent Rising is actually coming out! How uneventful this actually is. How anti-climatic. I think I'll rent it and BUY Guild Wars instead.

Nice! Dangermouse is awesome. I'll get that and go see Lords of Dogtown this week. It looks really good. The documentary, Dogtown and Z-Boys (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0275309/), was really well done to say the least, so it'll be interesting to see if a fictional account of the whole thing can top that or not.

I wouldn't count on Advent Rising actually being out today. I got an email about the PC release over a month ago telling me that it was being pushed back till June 30th not because they had an actual deadline but because the publisher had told them it wouldn't be ready for the former deadline and then didn't give them any new information.

My bet is that the Xbox version will be pushed back as well.. but since it is the 31st if someone gets an email telling them their copy shipped I will quickly be proven wrong. Anyone get that email?

Question: Wasn't there another movie about the Z-boys from years and years ago? Skate or Die or something? I remember liking it as a kid but have never heard of it since. I remember the team wearing rediculous yellow uniforms.

Just went into EB, it's coming in this Thursday. Though that's most likely because we're getting fucked up here in Canada again (I know, 2 whole days difference, woe is me). Can someone confirm it out in the states today?

What is actually Advent Rising?
The information on EBGames doesn't yield much and Gamerankings doesn't have much so far. Is this game made like Claw or the WingCommander DVDs where you watch a movie and play several scenes in-between?

Watching trailers on gametrailers.com. Funny but it all reminds me of Titan A.E....

Yeah, my thoughts exactly. The only review at gamerankings right now is from Maxim Online, not exactly the authority on games.

Then again, it's theoretically on sale at Fry's today for $35. I might just buy it and then sell it to EB games if it sucks. It would be like a rental.

Looking forward to a review of Advent Rising, but like an above poster said, it doesn't bode well that there are no reviews out yet. I will be holding off on a purchase until I see some positive reviews. I have some high hopes for it though.

The only Advent Rising review I have managed to track down is from Maxim. They gave it 4 out of 5 stars, but considering they are not exactly an authority on gaming, I think I will wait for some more sources to chime in. I have my fingers crossed and have been waiting for this game.

I hope Advent Rising will not suck, as it looks like a amusing game. I also REALLLY want to like Majesco as a publisher.

Advent Rising was awesome at E3. The only reason i can see that they aren't on top of the world is lackluster marketing. I'll be picking that up and hopefully the word of mouth won't let it die on the vine.

And what games did you get for your PSP? I'm currently playing the crap out of MLB while waiting for Midnight Club, and some other new games. I've found that I play my PSP far more than anything else right now.

Hrm, so far it's got an 8.7/10 out of 40 reviews on Gamespot. Also, the Gamespy reviewer did like much of the game, he just seemed hung up on the acting and other small things. So it may just be a "in his opinion" review. I'll wait to see how things stand in a day or two.

After reading the review I really want to play it, just to see if the storytelling is that badly handled, and if so what was done wrong. That's a good review, I guess.
