Will you be an evil or benevolent deity? That's the choice players must make upon returning to a warring land in Black & White 2. Like its wildly successful predecessor, Black & White, the sequel is all about moral choices. The land, however, has transformed itself. The inhabitants of this breathtaking 3D world have lost their innocence. They're technically savvy and they believe in one god. They are also looking for converts from other tribes.

Black & White 2 includes other new elements, such as improved graphics and Miracle effects such as rivers of fire and earthquakes that yield mass destruction. The game also includes weather systems that impact gameplay; players will see the impact of a drought that scorches the arid plains of Egypt or the effect of a heavy snowfall on the Norse Mountains.

I'm not too excited about this. Since ol' Pete's... mishap... with Fable, I'm a little suspect.

And, the original seemed like it was pretty cool... for the first couple levels. Once the RTS aspect was introduced, it kinda turned me off.

If anyone knows what to make of this, please tell me. Redemption, or Lucy-with-the-football?

I'm going to wait until the game is released before I make judgement calls.

That screen with the wolf braying at the moon is top-notch. I'm sold right there, bitch. I'm a lycanthrope so i love anything with similar content.

Looks pretty, but.. did they fix the gameplay? I got bored incredibly quickly of the first B&W. I think I gave up on the second level.

A lot of those textures are a bit flat. Shoudn't everthing these days be shadered up the wazoo?

I looked at the box of the last one and felt an overpowering urge to yawn. So I did. Very much like a duck doesn't.

And now I'm not sure what to think of this one. I think I'll go consider yawning.

I'll go ahead and make judgement now. This game will suck. It might be fun for like the first level or two (similar to the first one) but then the game will degenerate into bullshit.

One thing I've learned about video games is that developers rarely learn from or fix mistakes of the original in sequels.

Yeh why wait with the judgement. B&W 1 sucked, Fable was way overhyped. B&W 2? Well...it stinks. Amazing fun for an hour though.

I really wonder how come he got Populous ever made...was it just a team that kept him in check, or was it just because the team was so good. Now it's different and he can't make anything to work because he has money enough so no one is controlling him.

Should try to make something simpler for a change - games are getting way too big.

Why wait to judge a game before it comes out?

Well, if it does turn out to be a good game you look like an ass. Hell, you generally look like an ass one way or another if you attempt to "grade" a game you've never played.

I think part of the reason B&W failed to have a lasting appeal was because Lionhead spent the greatest effort on trying to be innovative and not enough time on game play. The game was very unique, and that made it fun but only for so long.

I think the reason that Black and White failed was because there was so much gameplay emphasis in your pet, and it got yanked away for half the damn game. The rest of the "game" was non-existant.

Oh c'mon! The first one was alright...

I mean what other game can you train a monkey to throw his own feces at unsuspecting villagers!

Who could possibly believe anything this guy says about his own games, I think he even said at some point don't listen to me cause I just get so damn excited about the ideas that I really haven't even tried to implement yet that my games will be nothing like what comes out of my mouth.

After BW1 and Fable, I'll gladly be skipping out on his future productions until he learns to either stop hyping them or just follow through with that he plans.
