Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters is an all-new PSP exclusive sci-fi action adventure, featuring many new and returning weapons and gadgets, drawing players into a galaxy spanning adventure set across new levels with diverse gameplay. WorthPlaying (http://www.WorthPlaying.com) had the chance to gets some hands on play with a complete build, including multiplayer, here is a snip
Though not developed by Insomniac Games, creators of the first four games in the series, Size Matters maintains and expands the familiar details that set the franchise apart from other mascot-based action games on the market. Roughly a dozen unique environments can be navigated on foot, including an expansive farming facility and a bizarre dream sequence, complete with floating platforms. Busting boxes and collecting bolts is as essential as ever, as you’ll need them to purchase the latest and greatest in futuristic firearms and gadgets (not to mention copious amounts of ammunition).Check the full Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters preview (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=40436) over at WorthPlaying.

Huh. Maybe I'll borrow a PSP to play this. I love the PS2 games.

I have this pre-ordered. Definitely my favorite platformer series of all time!

I was in the beta. It's good, but it's nothing new... basically the exact same experience as the PS2 games. They were lots of fun, sure, but... well... it's basically just a port with different levels.

This looks to be pretty good. Dammit, I'm going to have to choose between this and Monster Hunter : Jewel Summoner (http://www.atlus.com/jewelsummoner/) next week. That's just not right.
And Aero, I'm not really sure who told you it's a port, but it's not.

There is also an interview with a couple people that worked on it (including the Roberto guy that has designed most of the weapons on all of them) on yesterday's EGM Live!* podcast (http://egmlive.1up.com/).
They mention it is a return to humor and they added some cool armor parts that you can collect and make sets of that do effects. Like a fire armor set that makes you leave fire footprints and makes your wrench all fiery.
This is probably a game I will pick up when I buy a PSP this fall for Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles.

Great! I loved Daxter... this should be awesome and I never played the other Ratchet games!

But I thought it was impossible to make good games for PSP?
I'll be picking this one up day one. That is, if I can stop playing the Korean import of DJ Max.

I have DJ Max, and you're definitely right, it's very addicting. When I ordered it, it was pretty much all I played for the next month. Of course I hit a plateau as far as which stages I could beat, so I don't play it as often any more. It's a great game though.
Ratchet and Clank looks pretty sweet too. I can't believe it's coming out already... I mean... back when it was announced it seemed so far away... and now the day is here already (or soon). Should be fun!

There's a 3 level demo at the game stores if anyone's interested. A buddy of mine got me one from GameStop and the game is easily just as good as the console versions. I'll definitely be picking it up when it launches.

God damn. I love this series, and it pains me it's only for the PSP. I might actually have to buy a PSP to play it. Iv'e played the other games to death, completed them at least 3 times each.
Does anyone know if they have any PS2 games planned?

The next game in the series is going to be on the PS3. 1UP (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3156983) is saying that they'll have an exclusive preview with a ton of info and screens in the next EGM.

Oh man, I can't afford a PS3. It's way too expensive en Denmark. In danish kroner it's going to cost 5499,-. That's 955 $. Fucking crazy!

Damn it...
That's the second PSP game I want. Hopefully, this will be end of it, and there won't be any more temptation pulling me towards this system.
