Game Informer online (http://www.gameinformer.com/News/Story/200702/N07.0205.1623.21281.htm) has a great multi-player preview of the upcoming Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2.
The game plays and controls, for the most part, like the original game. It’s still very much a tactical shooter. If you hop into the action hoping to circle-strafe your way to victory, you’re likely to be disappointed--a few well-placed shots will end that kind of showboating. Instead, the game takes a slower, more deliberate pace as players move toward cover and crawl along, hoping to stay out of sight. If your teammates are capped, the sequel lets you quickly revive them. Wounded players show up on your HUD, and pressing the Y button quickly springs them back into the action. If you’re wounded, you can choose to force a respawn if you’re impatient or think you’re being used as bait by a diabolical sniper.
Another addition, which may not immediately be apparent, is the revised respawn system. Rather than simply teleporting people back into the game in predictable spots, GRAW 2 makes an effort to respawn players into areas based on recent kills and enemy locations. From what I played, it worked well—I wasn’t spawn-killed, and I didn’t hear any teammates complaining about it, either. GRAW 2 also adds a new clan system. Each clan can contain 100 members, and clans can select their own logo.
Let me echo the forums and say: Mexico? Again? Otherwise, it looks yummy!
