Looks good. I've skipped the last couple of Armored Core games, hopefully this one will be interesting enough to pick up. The online multiplayer will be a big draw for me. It'll be a nice incentive to tune your mech just that little bit more to try to get an edge.

I've tried to play Armored Core repeatedly, but I can't seem to get into them. I suspect there's some key fascination to the game that I'm missing. It makes me sad, because I tend to run on the fundamental belief that *anything* is better with Mecha.
Edit: I must be confusing Armored Core with some other game, because this doesn't seem to be the game I remember. I connected the Armored Core series with some game where you program behavior in your mech.
Which one(s) do you guys recommend I search for the hardest for the most *fun*?

I'd say go for one of the numbered ones. AC2, AC3, after those, it seemed to get really weird in the difficulty department, you almost had to cheat a lot of the time just to get through what should have been simple missions, and there was almost no way to dodge many attacks, making "small and fast" mecha pretty much useless.
The named ones, (Nine Breaker, Core Front, etc) were not that good from what I recall.
Edit: The game you were thinking about, the programing one was called "Carnage Heart"

As Lekon said, Carnage Heart is the game. They actually made three of them - 2 for the PS1 and one for the PSP. The latter two never appeared outside of Japan, more's the pity.
A more underrated and underappreciated game I've never seen. Now, that would be a great Xbox Live Arcade title...
