Now this (http://www.battleteam.net/tech/fis/) is pretty damn cool. If you are tired of Turbo Turkey Puncher 3000, this Doom 3 mod is for you. The mod is a demo of FIS, or Fully Interactive Surfaces. You'll be able to play the original Doom inside of Doom 3. Monster closets inside monster closets! SPOOOOOKY!
The Terminal DOOM demo is a DOOM3 port - of sorts - of the Classic DOOM source as originally released in 1997. There are only minor changes to Doom1 and Doom3. The playable demo is available for Windows and Linux. You will have to have the retail version of DOOM3 installed, and you will have to apply the version 1.3 patch to be able to run the Terminal DOOM demo. Once you applied the new patch, download the demo here from the mirror kindly provided by Ryan Gordon.

That's just... wow. In a few years, you'll be able to play Doom 1 within Doom 3 within Doom 5.

Here's a 'cool' thing to do: Get an Amiga emulator, set it up to run on your PC. Then get an Sega Master System emulator for the Amiga, attempt to get it to run on the Amiga emulator (I suggest WinUAE)... and so forth.
Okay, stupid idea.

Damn it...I miss Maniac Mansion. Now I'm not one that usually supports game remakes, but Maniac Mansion definitely needs one.

do a search for maniac mansion and SCUMM, i think. There is a version that runs on XP and is free for download. No graphical upgrade, but if you love maniac mansion, you should be a purist anyways :)

Why not just forget Doom 3 and pick up a copy of the original Doom for like $5?

If I had a PC based Xbox emulator..
PC emulates Xbox, which runs the SNES emulator, which runs doom 1.
But this is cool too.
Maybe they can get QuakeWorld working in it next? So then you can play Quake online.

Remake Maniac Mansion?
unless the game is based around Hoth I doubt that will see the light of day.

Oh man you had to go to Weird Ed's room in Day of the Tentacle and "Use" his computer five times and you got to play Maniac Mansion. That was the coolest game ever. Its primitive graphics and lack of music kind of creeped me out sometimes though.
