Just got an email from the folks at NC Soft. This weekend all cancelled accounts will be reactivated for free for 5 days. Just log into the game between 2pm (CDT) on Thursday, May 26th and 11:59pm (CDT) on Tuesday, May 31st and you will find your account reactivated FREE of charge!* Your hero characters will be waiting just as you left them, ready for new adventures.
Some of the improvements listed:From the innovative Costume options of Issue 4, to the Epic Archetypes and Zone Events of Issue 3, to the exciting Zones/Villain Groups/Trials of Issue 2…there’s something new for everyone to enjoy!
Very tempting, but I can't get hooked again. I simply don't have enough damn time!

I'd be tempted to play MMO games if they charged for how much you use it, instead of on a monthly basis.
Or even a lower level amount like say 1/3rd of the price for restricted playing hours (up to say 20 a month or something).

...Home?
Hmm... might be worth a try again to test out how useless my character be in PvP

The game locked up when I went into options and I could not get back into the game.
Thanks Cryptic, for making a good game not work.

I wish it were fun post level 25 or so.

Hate to say it, but that's a bad sign. EQ and AO started doing this sort of deal not long before their player base started dropping exponentially.

It is all about time for me. I love MMORPG's, but I don't have time to put into them. I'm starting to be really tempted to even cut out my WoW account and just stick with EverQuest/EverQuest II/Galaxies due to the Station All-Access pass and supplement that with Guild Wars and any expansions they put out for Guild Wars.
I loved City of Heroes and Final Fantasy XI, but I can't justify paying the monthly fee for a game I only get to play a few hours a month.

I picked up GW for $40 at Target. It's my first foray into mmorpgs (or pseudo mmorpgs,if you will), so I might not be the best barometer, but so far I've enjoyed it. The only pressure I have to play is that my friends are all already well on their way to level 20, though it's always easy enough to find a party of similiarly skilled players.

Man, you've been really lucky then. I have the worst time finding groups. The automatic groups at the PVP arena always seem to stick me with one afk, an idiot and a screaming abusive jackass. If they couldn't find a screaming abusive jackass then I get another idiot and I'm the screaming abusive jackass. For the group missions I have to stand around for fifteen to twenty minutes looking for a team and then it's pretty much the same group from the pvp arena. They need a looking for group screen, like the mission stones that nobody uses in WoW but more effective.
Just make a screen that stays open where you can see who's LFG, their level and type. Put in a /w option and bam. The best example of a LFG screen so far is in City of Heroes. The best setup. The only flaw is that you can't search and switch to other servers like you can in Guild Wars.
