Midway sends along word of it's next-gen plans to Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/26/news_6126507.html) :
"We have no less than seven Xbox 360 games currently in development in our internal studios targeted for release in 2006-8," a Midway executive emphasized to GameSpot today. The rep also confirmed that 360 and PS3 versions of Stranglehold are in the works; previously the game had only been confirmed for "next-generation consoles."So... ya know...

I would say that the main reason this is news is because other sites have been trying to throw some negativity onto the Xbox 360 by implying that Midway wasn't going to develop for the system.
That isn't true, Midway just isn't pulling together a launch title.

I agree. Psi-Ops was pretty good, but it never reached its full potential, but other than that, Midway has not done anything for me in a good long time - possibly since the Nintendo 64 version of Blitz. After the disappointment that was the Blitz Pro games, I am hoping that the next Blitz returns to the simple, overly violent take on football that it is famous for.
PS: Although VERY little is known about the game, Stranglehold has me interested as well. Some of Jon Woo's earlier films are downright classics [I even paid over 100 dollars to obtain a mint copy of 'The Killer' Criterion Collection edition]. Since Woo and Chow Yun Fat came over to Hollywood, their work has not compared to their previous glory. With a bit of luck, Stranglehold will accurately capture the special feeling that was provided by the great Woo / Fat collaborations.

I think Midway is preety good, except when they are taking off other games, in which case their games seem like 2nd rate knock-offs (sorry, but Blitz... just wasn't enough of anything, nor was Area 51)
I like the sound of the new Blitz, hopefully the graphics will be sooo good, I can look at a characters eyes, and tell if he had been up all night snorting coke off of a hookers tits through a $100 bill. Then have my steroid enhanced Mike Tyson character run out there and break the hotshots legs.

Gauntlet: The 360 Sorrows
Oh yeah, The Suffering was pretty cool - aside from the ridiculous overuse of profanity that just sounded corny. I also like how they offered both 3rd and 1st person views. The game played much better for me in 1st person.
Question: Does anyone actually prefer 3rd person views over 1st person views in shooters? I don't see the point of 3rd person unless their are stealth aspects. And even then its a hard sell - I mean I played Thief in 1st person the whole time. Just adds more to the atmosphere of the game for me.
Oh and note to developers, if you have a 3rd person view in your game, PLEASE don't make the camera auto center behind the character after you manipulate it...or at least offer the option to turn it off. That almost killed Psychonauts, Strangers Wrath and a few other games for me.
