Midway: No Games for Launch of XBox 360

[It's a] pretty small install base. To really maximize, to get the performance out of some of the games, it's going to take some time to do that. And we want to make sure we're launching high-quality titles.

However, they do claim they will have titles ready for the release of the PS3.

Well, let's see... Since the current install base is zero, and there are rumored to be significant shortages of 360 hardware at launch -- combined with the fact that this is the successor to a relatively unsuccessful console (compared to the total video game market), yeah, a guess that at launch there will be a fairly small install base for the 360 doesn't seem all that far off. In terms of risk / reward for Midway.

I mean, Midway has to be careful right now. They've been in trouble for awhile, and I'd hate to see another publisher bite the dust. Hopefully they can turn it around. It sounds like they've started to get it figured out though. I've got high hopes for Surreal...

Eh. It's Midway, I stand by the 'meh' attitude. Psi-ops is the best thing they've done for me in years, so I don't really care if they're making launch titles or not. Though it sounds like the Sony fanboys are considering this some kind of black eye for MS now (which is laughable).

Midway is in the process of really turning around, they have expanded greatly in the past few years and they have the capital and long-term vision to become a much better company in the next few years. If you look at what they are developng their games on (they are using the unreal 3 engine for at least some of these titles) and since the unreal engine 3 works on PS3 and Xbox 360, then it makes total sense marketing-wise to only release titles when both platforms are available and that 30 second ad you bought will help sell to xbox 360 and ps3 owners.

I have a PC and speakeasy server for that. Plus it's free. Xbox is a gimick system what wll die like all the other consoles that tried. 70 million PS's vs <15 million Xbox failers. My Sega Gamegear handheld was awesome too, you should try it. It's overrated and obsolete like the Xbox.
