Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/) has an posted an interview (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=59297) with J. Allard revealing that Gears of War will be developed for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Thanks to Worthplaying (http://www.worthplaying.com/) for the tip.

It's nice to see Microsoft didn't completely abandon the PC market. But I am curious if the PC version of Gears of War will be as late as the PC version of Halo?

I thought this was also being ported to the PS3? Didn't someone also talk about the "Xbox 360's best-looking title" running on the PS3?

When Cliffy B was on G4 for his interview during E3 he killed the Gears of War on PS3 discussion. For consoles only on XBOX360 according to him.

Microsoft is publishing Gears, so I doubt it will show up on the PS3 ;)

I think a few people are getting mixed up because Gears is an UE3 game, and Epic showed an UE3 tech demo on the PS3.

Well, another reason to hold off buying a 360 for the unforseen future. Cant desert my PC yet, not while it's still young and agile.

I'm pretty happy about this, not because I'm planning to get it on PC or anything, but because it looks to be a good game and if it does well we'll see more of the franchise.

This the first result of that XNA stuff they have have been so proud of for so long?

Yay or nay?

I wonder how will it run on let's say a high-end PC: P4 3.0 GHz and 6800 Ultra?

360 should be 3 times more powerful so...

No, it's UE3.

Hey, that's an immense relief -- I'm all for Xbox exclusives. :D

This game looks sweet. Here's hoping it's not another Brute Force:)

I'm all for exclusives, period. I think that when games go multiplatform, they cater to the least powerful one. XBox exclusives always look better than multi-platform games on the XBox. I plan to buy all three consoles (well, MAYBE not the Rev, depending on what the hell it is,) so I'm 100% in favor of exclusives, for every side.

Usually, I would agree with you... but there are problems. Take, for example, Soul Calibur 3. Now, I love my PS2, but I lost all interest when I heard it was PS2 only. For me, the Xbox wins for this type of game, no question. The PS2 simply can't deliver the type of experience I would hope to see in the next Soul Calibur title.

Yes, I know the series history, Soul Blade on the PS, and I know graphics aren't everything. But in a fighting game, they're a heck of a lot. It's not good when they focus on the least powerful console, but it's worse when they only release on the least powerful console. In my experience, multi-console titles tend to be beefed up on the more powerful consoles, and tuned down on the lower end consoles. Choice is usually a good thing.

Hell, I wont play a Soul Calibur game unless its on my dreamcast.

What's this crap about Microsoft forgetting PC Gamers?

Their PC Section was pretty substantial AND they had rented out a parking lot across the street for a PC Games ("Games for Windows") pavillion (which admittedly wasn't staffed with hot booth babes, but did have some neat stuff going on in it.

They also had their booth babes handing out Games for Windows Shirts all over the gaming floor.

If anything, Microsoft is pimping games for Windows heavier than anyone else!

But I am curious if the PC version of Gears of War will be as late as the PC version of Halo?Halo PC was so late because of the MS purchase of Bungie back in the day. They switched over to the Xbox development and put the PC version on the backburner. Initially, MS didn't even want to bother with a PC version, but Bungie felt as though they had a commitment to it because there was so much fuss about it in the past. This is why you'll never see a Halo 2 on the PC.

The PC version of Halo is consistantly one of the best selling PC titles, it wouldn't shock me to see a PC version of Halo 2 at some point. The question is... who will develop it?

They have to, or everyone goes to OSX or Linux. Games are the only reason I would even consider a Windows machine, and most of them are going to be on the consoles anyway. Plus, with UE3 and all the consoles using Mac-like hardware, ports to OSX and Linux will be easier. MS needs some sort of revenue stream, and depending on corporate sales and Office would probably not be a good longterm bet.
