was anyone else disappointed with how the orignal played?
I simply don't see myself playing any game that uses the same or similar mechanics ;p

Why don't they go to HomeDepot then they can get a hundred hammers! Ha ha ha!
ya the first one was an overhyped POS only Computer Gaming World had the balls to give it the low score it rightfully deserved and give everyone the true low down about it, how it was a simplistic one-wall-to the next puzzle game. Very shitty little game, I guess though you put AMERICAS ARMY in anything now a days and you'll get dumbasses grabbing it up by the dozens.

I thourougly enjoyed it. the one problem I had with it, abiet a major one, was the fact that when anyone was behind and cover, they were impossible to hit even when they poked themselves around the corner. I understood and appreciated the flanking aspect, but cover is never 100%. It degrades and anytime you poke an inch of your body around the corner to take a peek or shot you could get popped. The game was far from crap, maybe it wasn't for everyone but it wasn't a terrible game. Actually is was a pretty darn good game. And throw in the Actual Army version that was hidden on the disc, it was pretty freaking cool. Then add in a person who you know and trust to Online with and it was and awesome game.
I really liked this game. It was a good change of pace for me when I was in the mood to play some sort of military-esque game but didn't want to run through another WWII game or for that matter another FPS. The only other military game to grab my attention as being something different/fresh was BIA. Sure there were mechanics to this game I didn't like (such as Intruder's mentioning of the inability to hit the entrenched) but that did not deter me from enjoying it. Same with BIA. It really did become a bit of a flanking sim, but one I still enjoyed nonetheless. And too, I have a slight enjoyment of mild strategy games (just recently finished MGS Ac!d) and this did enough to whet that part of my gaming appetite. At the very least, I'll be renting this one.
